Of course I let her drive the Porsches, we're partners in life! Its as much her cars as mine. But given that fact, she rarely drives them.

My wife drives mine, and has even done some DE events with it. Now she wants a 993 of her own...

p.s. she even bleeds my brakes for me sometimes. My wife rules.

I bought a custom seat for my wife but for some reason it only fits on the right side....

Seriously before kids my wife and I had 2 P-cars in the garage my 80 911SC and her 87 951. So I know she is definitely capable to drive the 993, but once she does I think she'll want to drive it more often....So I just don't bring it up.

No. This past winter we took the 325IX to a large open parking that was under construction and she practiced using the clutch and shifting. We even went back another time when the lot was snow covered and she got the hang of braking, sliding, and regaining control. The bottom line is she doesnt enjoy manual transmission cars, so if we ever get her a Porsche, it will have to be a Tip.

She drove my Boxster w/Tip all the time. I gave her a lesson in the 993, and she really did well-probably one of the best that I ever taught. She's still kind of afraid of this one, though.

When I had my car she did. One night she got a race with a Pontiac Bonneville. Hilarious.

She hated it because of the bottom hinge pedals.

My gf can't believe that I let her drive my 993. I even let her be co-driver in a PCA skills day. I think that she had more fun than me! We are planning to do more skills days this season as well. BTW, she is the envy of all her friends- they aren't "allowed" to touch their significant others' car, let alone on the track.

A few years back I owned an NSX. My girlfriend (now my wife) drove it just fine, although it wasn't somelthing she really wanted to do. She could drive the Porsche, but hasn't shown any real interest in doing so.

the "no's" are interesting indeed. you guys are tough! my wife drives mine alot. we just have the 911 and a wagon with the car seats. if i'm toting the kids around without her, i can't very well request she ride her bike. she certainly doesn't perfer it, but she does have an appreciation for the attention she gets while driving it. just a car. if it gets damaged, we'll find another.

my wife has no interest.

One time, she met a bunch of friends up in Palm Springs and really wanted her to take it. I thought it would be cool for her to show up at the hotel driving our new car (at the time) but she refused.

We recently left a party and faked being drunk to see if she was going to drive us home. She did not take the bait and said that we would wait until I sobered up. She called me on it... There is no hope!
