Wow, almost 100!
I just had a short conversation with the Porsche DSM (who has had 18 days to make progress) and he told me he has not spent any time on this problem. He said he will have something to report by the first week of January. Ok, but now sure sounds like a good time time to address this problem with the highest authority in PCNA....I guess that is today's project....
***Sigh***
Cheers,
Mike

Go right to The man...
Mike,
I had a problem with my new Turbo 2 years ago. The car sat at the dealer for over 2 weeks while Porsche NA tried to come up with a fuel pump. Now one would think that a part so rudimentary as a fuel pump would be stocked by the largest Porsche market in the world. NOT!
So I wrote a letter to Peter Schwarzenbauer, PCNA CEO, and expressed my frustration and disappointment in his company's level of parts support. I included a copy of a magazine advertisement that Porsche was running at the time that stated, "Every day your Porsche is parked is a day you can't get back".
I sent the letter by registered certified mail so that I would see who signed for it so that I could follow up if needed. In then end, PCNA set me a check for $700 for my lost "usage" due to their parts stocking problems. From this, and from my own corporation, I've learned that the guy at the top doesn't like to get personal letters from dissatisfied customers. He will usually take action. Will this help in your case? I can't say, but it surely can't hurt. Just be reasonable and factual in stating your case. Set your emotions aside.
Cheers,

Thanks Fred,
Funnily enough that is exactly whom I am writing to right now and was planning to send it via registered mail...our minds t hink alike!.
The letter is very nicely written and a focused on the facts. I actually drafted it quite a while ago but was waiting for a negative or flat response from the DSM before sending it. I wanted to give the DSM as much leeway as is reasonable to handle the problem. I just got the flat response so away the letter goes....
I am thinking of sending a printout of this thread with it...what do you think?
Cheers,
Mike

count me in. I had rust above the engine compartment and Porsche did in fact pay to have it repaired. They then refused to fix the other side of the car with the same problem.... oh well.

OK Guys...I have a sugestion!
It worked wonders for me when I had my Dunlop tires splitting, all I got was BS till I wrote two letters to the the CEP of GoodYear and the President of Dunlop.
Result...4 new tires for NADA!!
This plan is radical...lets all send a letter to the ceo of PAG in Deutschland,
Fiirst;
Introduction of ourselfes
Vin Of our Car
Reason for our letter
picture or link of our Rennlist friends Car.
Rennlist member number
a briefe explanation of how we feel screwed and let down by Porsche
Follow up by a phone call to his office....none of us will ever get trough, but the point will be taken
Complete write up of this issue sent to a few automotive journalists.
What do you guys think of this aproach??
It will cost each one of us a few dollars for the registered letter...

Given its Christmas time the registered letter is unlikely to be at Peter's offices until after Christmas. If he is away on holidays then its into the New Year until anything happens.
I will post as soon as I know anything. Stay posted and enjoy your Christmas
Cheers,
Mike
PS Since this is taking so long I am going to pull the car back from the body shop (where its been the last three months) and pull the engine for a rebuild. All the parts are on their way and I am warming up my wrenches. i am starting at the basics though...I am building the base for my engine stand first. I started with a new 2000lb engine stand but it was too short and did not support the P201 Yoke so I am welding in a new post with a base for the P201 clamp. Hopefully the engine will be on that stand next week and I can start my rebuild. The target is to get everything fixed and on the road again in the Spring. Hopefully I will post the process while its underway...you can see how an amateur does it!
