Y'all--
1) I have huge gratitude for my crazy good Porsche dealership who's been motivated to get these on Speedy, as an homage to the legendary '89 WB Speedster. They've been as inspired as me by our shared vision to get these wheels on, & that's saying a lot.
Big thanks to RLers who have made me much smarter regarding wheels, & been trying to help me out ever since Feb 2008, when I posted this collection of what I found to be available at the time: on the "Modern Fuchs" thread.
Original goal was to have shoes like these before Monterey, CA's car week last year, Aug 2009.
During that time & continuing to now, I've especially appreciated RLer Edgy01's help & enthusiasm, even giving advice on other options when FuchsRacing didn't have production before last year's Monterey festivities. FuchsRacing.com's since contacted me directly, & I have every confidence they will have outstanding options for everyone by fall.
To be clear, Speedy's brand new wheels are Porsche OEM, featured on their limited edition 997/ 911 Sport Classic. I consider myself very lucky to have what may be the first customer sets installed anywhere, much less the first on a 993.
2) Apologies in advance, due to lack of time in my personal life to properly post better pix & further details for now. Likewise, it may be all too long 'til I can follow-up, but thought you might like this first post promptly.
They've been on Speedy for less than one day. A local wheel expert was kind enough to inspect the fitment with me before I was committed. He doesn't expect any rubbing, but did say it could possibly occur on the fronts. I'll keep a close eye. I have some very reasonable options if they rub at all.
I anticipated having to use spacers, etc., but there are NO modifications/ additions to what you see here. Fenders are NOT rolled.
Front : 8.5" x 19" ET55mm; tires 235/35 ZR 19
Rear: 11.5" x 19" ET50mm; 305/30 ZR 19
Just like Speedy was a dream come true for me in regards to a modern update of the 911 Speedster, these are the realization of my aspirations for a proper tribute to the Fuchs on the iconic 1989 widebody Speedster. I am thrilled & humbled to have had so many help get to this point.
More photos to eventually follow on the "Rennlist/ PCA member's 993 SPEEDSTER" thread, but please have patience.
Again: can't give enough credit to the forward-thinking pros at my local Porsche dealership!

They look great and the car looks extremely low on them. Id say your more likely to have problems at the rear. Drive over a badly joined road over a brige at speed and youll know if the rears will touch the lip.

Macca-- No doubt, Speedy looks slammed. I need to give her some 'test flights' soon, putting her through a proper workout, with attentive eye (& ear) for any rubbing.

I think from a purley optic point f view the car looks perfect. It look like you are running at RS or below. However having just been through the same delimma it does come down to physics in the end. I drove my car 200km after the wheel change round town and through some tight bends with no issues. I then embarked on a 1500km journey and found a speed over undulations the rubbing revealed itself. Always a similar senario. Its about loading the suspension and abrumpt "jolts/bumps". A freind of mine dove the car through some tight roads he was familair with at considerable speed and we had only 2-3 rubs. After thebaseball bat and roling the rear guard they pretty much disapeared on the same road. However fast over a railway track demonstrated there was still an issue under compression at speed. I do agree the fronts look particularly pushed out. I think the amount of fuel you carry could make a difference here but my experience suggests you will be fine and its the back that could be an issue if at all.
IMHO those fuch style wheels in black looks excelent on a red car but I dont believe they would have suited Grahams 9M wagon. I think his wheels needed to be silver or body colour as introducing a third colour to the scheme would have affected the optik negatively.
I hope these work out for you on current settings as it sureley looks sweet.
Cheers

Sorry, I'm not feeling those Fuchs wheels at all. 19" wheels are just way too big for these cars and those particular wheels hardly resemble the original 15" Fuchs. Looks like something that came off the current line of retro Mustangs.
