It is curious that your car with black painted calipers looks so much sportier than the one with red ones, which color over blu midnight or polar silver give a way more fancier/refined overall look. Probably the 993 CUP cars had oversized calipers painted black, eventually because the red under hard braking has the tendency to become carmin red (dunkler), while the black can't become blacker (only the white Porsche stitching on each caliper would become light yellow, as if they have been coocked).

All of the above to say that in your configuration the black calipers look in my opionion way more sporty than the red ones: I don't mean they are better in black, just that red look more Burberry pattern alike, black are more practical/focus on the results in the way sportscar should always be.

For this reason I can't find a better wheel so far in the 993 standard sizes, for the track days, than the 18" OZ Racing Alleggerita: the lightest wheel available on the market, robust, with a great look.

I know the Speedlines are amazing, also BBS Le Mans, or BBS Motorsport E28 and E29, but on the track, lightness, robustness, being cost effective, are far more important than look.

I haven't seen my exact combo posted, so here it is...Carrera III's on a Polar Silver coupe...looks like they were made for it.

Those big gaps between the spokes give you a great big window to the beautiful drilled discs and calipers (and also make it easier to get in there for the inevitable clean-up)

Can't help myself (still on honeymoon from my recent "restoration")...here's an interior pic, too...

Just want to know if you have any issues fitting the Carrera III wheels on your NB 993? What size tires are you running? I have seen the Carrera III wheels on both WB and NB 993s, as far as I know they only come in one size for Front and one size for Rear.

Nice Carrera III wheelset... have you considered the MY02 Carrera wheels as they seem to match the natural curves of the 993 a bit better.

Nope. Carrera IIIs come with NB and WB sizes. Fronts are the same but rears come in 10” and 11”.

I like the simplicity of the MY02 wheels, but I find the spokes a little too skimpy to my liking........

Any more photos from angles?
Very sweet looking, I squint and see curves similar to CupII, at a push. I wanted 18" CupII (the replica ones) but the WB fitments put me off trying to squeeze them on a NB. Rotoform make some that look decent.

But the Speedline Daytona spokes are curved nicely, a more interesting shape than the RH3.6 I had. The more I looked, the more Daytonas resonated and so I ordered some from Jim last year, hopefully my build isnt far behind yours...

Thanks for posting 👍
