993 RS vs 996 GT3 Part 1
#2
last month's issue of excellence has an article discussing all the diferent RS models.
74 RS, 964 RS, 993 RS and GT3 RS.
Although the 996 GT3RS has significantly more Pwr, the autor seems to favor the 993 RS.
Cheers,

My mistake I did not specify, the RSR is a 964 and not 993. There were only 45 produced and where made to have them homologated into a racing version, these were N/A engines with up to 350 hp from the factory.
The 993 was called the RS Clubsport, basically very similar to the RS that Monique has, but stripped down and with an aggressive double decker wing ala GT2, also 300 hp.
Fongster, I am not sure whether they import the GT3RS in Singapore, but I think it would have made a better comparison vs your 993RS as far as sound and roughness is concerned. Congratulations on the car BTW.

Thanks guys. I new about the 993 RSCS and the 993 GT2 EVO, which I have also seen a couple of strut braces from but then I also saw this RSR stut brace. Lots of different versions I guess.

Joe,
Anyone can put a RSR label on a part, and that part looks just the same as the Cup/RSCS version. I don't know for a fact that this isn't what the RSR had for a front tower brace but I would be surprised if most didn't have the solid part like the GT2 did.

993RS are very much in demand, we have had offers of 60 thousand pounds
even a one for one swap for a MK1 GT3

FWIW, I consider the 993 RSCS and the 993 RSR as one car. It seems more a market desig than a real difference in the vehicles.
AFAIK, they had no interior carpeting, nomex seats and a built in fire extinguisher system. Tried 2 ... but after 10 minutes, you need earplugs driving to the grocery store.
Although mine is not much better,,, hence, no radio.

Interesting. I really didn't think of the difference between the two before. I checked out Gert's site. What does the GT2 bar mount to?

An the bar on Ebay looks more like the cup bar:

Monique,
Have you seen or driven a real RSR? I have and I can tell you it is a far cry from a RSCS.
The RSCS is very similar to a Cup Car though, maybe that is what you were thinking.

The GT2 mounts to the same location as the other bar. It uses the front two 13mm nuts that hold the strut to the car.
