yikes! I didn't know that mine is 1 of 3.
since mine is white over cashmere 6spd nb c2 cab im guessing that was 1 of 1 imported to the us in 1994 in that spec? Is there a way to find that out from Porsche or some other way?

Also what's some advice for getting my 993 appraised by a Porsche appraisor in the Portland Oregon area? I think it's in condition 2 but not totally sure and am thinking getting it appraised would help me decide on what to set the agreed value for insurance purposes.

Anyone ever get their 993 officially appraised?

You could reach out to Porsche Classic in Atlanta … the “Mothership for US.” Appraisal is tough… check recent auction prices… being a 1 of 3 or 1 of 1 that year is no big deal. Follow standard recent 993 Cab sales such as Bring A Trailer in their completed Auction section.

Several years ago (2018), I had Jeff Hyman appraise two 993s for me for bank purposes. He was very good and can be reached here:

ok thanks ill reach out to Porsche Classic. Glad to hear that mine's not too rare to drive! I've researched BaT and other auction sites sold prices on somewhat similar cabs so think i have a good estimate of worth but would feel better with an appraisal.

With that said I don't expect that money from an insurance settlement would ever compensate me enough for the 3 years it took hunting to find my 95 c2 cab with the color combo and specs that I wanted. I would not look forward to going on a 993 hunt again for a very similar 993 cab with the same specs. Hopefully nothing will ever happen to it.

1994 was full model year here in Europe. My car is 1994 and for example it still has the 964 19-pin OBD1 plug, which is located on the passenger side footwell. Not on the side of the center console.

993 was introduced in the US year later. That is weird.

I couldn't find the 1994 European sales numbers but I suspect they're quite high as it was a new model.

I also find it weird that maybe 1/3 cars sold in Europe have the M030 lowered suspension. It was offered as a factory option along with the limited slip differential whereas a lot of the US cars have very high ride height and the M030 wasn't offered. Haven't really figured out why.

It's amazing what prices have done over the last year. That being said, if I were looking now I would be all over a NB Cabriolet - it's the last remaining reasonable 993 market. It seems like you can still find a decent one in the ~$60k range.

Cabriolets are still reasonable. They're about 50% of the coupe prices. Same for 964 cabs.

Imagine if they had a hardtop for the cabrio... like R129. Strange that nobody made aftermarket ones.

they do, it's called the targa in this gen.

this was my thought exactly when I purchased my 993 cab. Here’s the crazy thing - i was actually looking for another (expensive) car to add to the collection and was set on the F458 Italia, the last NA Ferrari going for about 225-250k these days. But not having an air cooled P-car gnawed at me. When I looked at 993 coupe prices, I was blown away until I realized the 993 cabs were a relative bargain at a fraction of the price!

I don’t think 993 cabs will stay underpriced relative to coupes forever. You can enjoy the 993, mod it, drive the hell out of it, and still have a good investment if you want to sell in 5 years.

BTW, love your guards red C2 cab!

that's why I bought my cab and because i love the open air feeling and visability of a cab! The stranger thing is cabs msrp was higher than coupes! If there was a removable hard top option that would be nice but I doubt I'd ever use it as the soft top is quiet enough for me and I usually drive with it down. Still it would have been a nice option. BTW I like those Fuch wheels on that 993. I had those on my 85 cab and loved the look. I'm thinking about putting turbo twist solid spoke wheels on my cab but like the cup wheels for now.

I say stick with the Cup wheels. They look best on the NB 993 (imho). I'll never part with mine.

Nice pics of your 993! I do like the cup wheels and the extra padding that the tires give for potholes, rough roads, etc. If I bought the turbo twists I'd always keep my cup wheels in storage
