What I would ask is IF in fact the transaction closed at this price? I have grown to think in the last few months that most of the winning bidders of these cars have gotten swallowed by the current 'gotta have a 993 wide body' trend. By comparison. The owner of my former midnight blue 9934S with same mileage, no visible blemishes, no accidents and verifiable service and ownership history, just sold it on consignment a few weeks ago for the same price ex fees, so essentially $5K cheaper and humbly, a better car. So I just don't get it.
Just an idea but would guess it comes down to spec as well (and how that matches up to current buyers), not just a better car on paper.
Months before buying my current car I looked at/drove an Arena/Tan C4S and while nice, I just prefer a black interior. As dumb as it sounds I would pay more for a car in a more desirable color combo (to me) that needed a bit more sorting because to me, sorting things is easier than changing colors.
