If I understand correctly, it will plug into the OBD port just like those OBD bluetooth code readers, staying plugged in?

That's how the "ODB" version worked. The new one plugs into an existing relay socket leaving the ODB port open.

I'd be interested in this as well once it is in production.

Brilliant Jay777.
I'm interested.
Sorry if I missed, but does the new IMMO BLOCK I also have the switch to re-enable immobilizer?
Again, nice job.

Do we have this immobiliser in UK cars? If we do, does this device have the same function then as eliminating the re-arming of the PA1000 (Hamilton Palmer) alarm after a timed period?

@Trevor-uk and @Caveman do you have a drive block feature, whereby you can only start the car up to 20 seconds after unlocking it? After that you have to lock then unlock again - it's very annoying if you get in, fiddle with your seat belt say bye to your wife, then it doesn't start. So you have to press the remote unlock on the keyfob again. This thread is about a piece of innovation to avoid all that.

Meenrod - I think so yes. I have a 95 car with the rectangular block and I think it is late 95. I also have a small gizmo that I have to plug into a slot on the dash before the car will start. Recently, it has occasionally not made its bleeping noise when I inserted the gizmo but is still unlocking the car.

Trevor-UK - I'm not sure if it the same thing but it seems to have the same issues as the US cars. Do you have the little immobilser gizmo?

That's not the same. Ours are remote operated- no little black block. It triggers when the car is unlocked and it 'blocks' it from starting.

I think you are confusing the OBD port (on board diagnostics).
