Loving the rear quarter window air inlet

 

Yeah, it's really cool looking... 😄

 

While everyone else on the internet fawns over the air inlet treatment in the rear quarter windows, I don't like it. It looks very klugey.

I'd be far more impressed if they paid homage to the Turbo S intake treatments:

 

If I could afford to put that 500 HP mill into a 993, I would have zero issue with the inlets. I think they look super-cool and are functional and unique. My $0.02.

 

Still wonder if it is a Porsche engine at all?! Or is it built with entirely new parts?

 

Don't let your dreams die Mike, I could be looking at a turbine powered waffle maker for all I know.

 

In the last engine the only Porsche parts were the case and oil pump.

 

I don't think there is a single Porsche part in this new engine. I'm pretty sure the next thing we'll see from Singer is a carbon monocoque. You can only find a finite number of 964 donor tubs. This engine fits quite well with that philosophy and allows the company to move past refurbishing old 911s and well into the future. Like the Eagle E-Type but on a whole new level. And with multilink rear suspension

I thought those were not functional. Same for the ones on 993 Turbo S. They're just for aesthetics.

 

Bad ***!! Wish it was more reasonably priced though...

 

We saw the picture of the engine yesterday. So cool!

 

Kudos to Singer for raising the bar once again. It's been an amazing marriage of those with passion and $$$ to fund his vision by buying his creations.
