Replace with Lucid Grand Touring

Currently have had my C2 for a few years now and thinking of making the switch to EV. Drove the Lucid, Taycan, and Tesla Model S. Currently leaning towards the Lucid or the Model S Plaid and wanted to get everyone’s thoughts. Is this the right choice or should I hold onto the 992 C2?

My thoughts were just to sell the C2 given the higher than normal resale value and then just lease the Lucid Air for a few years. Thought about the Taycan, but it would not make sense as those do not lease very well, and I actually preferred the Lucid. May consider jumping back into the 911 again when the next generation launches, as the 992.2 does not gain enough performance in the C2 models to be worth upgrading.

I can see adding an EV but replacing a Carrera? I have a Ford Lightning, which is great for what it is, but it's no replacement for my Carrera T. Just different.

The EV charging infrastructure sucks, at least within the Southeast. I am speaking from two months of EV ownership. I got out quickly as it is a dumpster fire.

Also, doesn't the Lucid have a double wishbone suspension, same as a GT3? It handles well for an EV, with a lower CoG adding to it. Weight, unfortunately, can't be hidden.

If you have to ask, then definitely do it.

Hard to think of any car that will depreciate faster than a Lucid at this point. Maybe there are some crazy lease deals with a high residual and therefore decent payments, in which case maybe it wouldn't be terrible.
However, if you want an EV sedan, trade the C2 in for a used Taycan. Dealers are desperate to move Taycans at the moment, particularly because the new one with much better range is arriving at dealerships. There are 450 used Taycans at Porsche US dealerships according to the used vehicle finder, many more at non-Porsche dealers / with private sellers. And there are 575(!) new first generation (2020-2024 Taycans). More than 1,000 to choose from, so you can almost certainly get exactly what you want in terms of options and colour, negotiate a killer deal, and end up with a vehicle that is fantastic to drive and supported by a nationwide dealer network.
Finally, there are 1,219 of the new generation Taycan listed on the Porsche site. Many of these are likely to be customer cars, but still it's not hard to see that this is going to mean armageddon for previous generation Taycan prices.

Of the three, I would get the Lucid.
And if you get a Lucid (or even a Taycan or M3), then definitely get a used one.
I really really like the Lucid Air. Not sold on its looks just quite, but the interior fit and finish, the driving dynamics and the battery tech are all really unmatched.

Teslas, Rivians, Lucids, etc....have ZERO customer service and in general vehicle service. Fit & finish of ALL Teslas and most Rivians is the WORST in automotive history (I think the Yugo was built better LOL). The charging network for non Teslas SUCKS and I don't see it getting addressed anytime soon.

It remains to be seen if Lucid even remains a viable business (same for a number of lesser EV makers, especially with China preparing to flood the market). I'd only contemplate one if I was buying a (used) one for cash, and prepared to lose most of it... Still a gorgeous car, though not a 911 in most respects...

That said, if it does go "kaput" I'd imagine some legacy automaker (GM?) or automotive group (Stellantis?) will acquire it for 10 cents on the dollar as there is just too much valuable human capital in Lucid to just let it wither away.
Time will tell, of course.
