When the 718 was launched, the most influential reviewers did not hesitate to bash it despite it being quicker and more efficient so I wouldn't be surprised if there are some who will take offense to the new exhaust sound at the very least.

It weighs more. Note how they removed things to get it to weigh "50kg" more. My 2023 GTS is a hair over 3300 pounds. I'm willing to bet there's no new GTS that's under 3700 pounds.

Wasn't the 718 launched with a stupid boring engine? 992 has a better engine if anything.

How can anyone trust what these people say after years of parroting the porsche talking points....the t is the enthusiast model...the gts is the sweet spot.....dear lord. These guys want cars to review......it's their livelihood. They do the bidding of their master.

Good one. I had forgotten about the "sweet spot".
Such garbage.
To me the sweet spot would be if Porsche built one 911.
Base/S/GTS/GT3/GT3 RS/ST/Turbo/Turbo S/R/ on and on and on. All BS.

Yes. This ^^^^. The 992.2 press car in the Matt Watson race had carbon fibre roof, no back seats and Ceramic brakes and was still 50kg more than 992.1.

Responding to this will surely take this off topic but that's entirely subjective and something that many non-Porsche purist who've actually driven one would disagree on. IMO, there's nothing stupid and boring about a turbocharged flat four with a VGT turbo that produces 350hp and 309 lb-ft of torque starting at 1900 rpm through 4500 rpm. It just wasn't a flat six.

And nobody really wanted it. What was a very popular car with 200-300 hp flat six became something most people didn't buy and those who bought it paid for the six cylinder versions at a premium. Bull**** Porsche strategy again.

Well that's one way of looking at things positively.
That's another car that fell off my pedestal a long time ago.

Which was highly influenced by the heavy hitter reviewers like Chris Harris from the immediate start leading many to completely write off the idea of the car. A lot of dealers spec'ing the cars out to near $100K and sometimes even over at the time was of no help either. Which just circles back to my point that reviewers have bashed Porsche cars and impacting sales in the recent past so they may very well do it again.

This car will be a performance monster, so one has to wonder what’s in store for the replacement TT/S and GT3. The 992.2 gapped a .1 pretty substantially. I’m not a fan of certain aesthetic choices for the .2, but that engine is impressive (…based on what we’ve seen).
