RIP Manuals. 992.2 only 2 pedals.
Just received a text message from my SA that his local rep informed him that the 992.2 will not have Manual transmission as option on the GTS. Has anyone else heard the same?

It's inevitable that three pedals are going away. The 911 manual transmission take rate is dropping. CO2 emissions, fuel economy, and other regulatory requirements are made easier with the PDK.
With that being said, 992.1 allocations are a lot easier to get than they were a year ago. I'm sure that SA's are using the rumored threat of no 992.2 manual transmission to make sure that every 992.1 build slot is taken. I'd take all of it with a grain of salt until we here something official from Porsche.
If Porsche does indeed drop the manual transmission from the Carrera/Cabrio/Targa trims, 3 pedal owners can all raise a glass, because our cars suddenly become that much more desirable.

you believe your sales rep? They know nothing more than we do until the new model is released.

I do, we have a good relationship. It’s not something he would make up, he received this info from directly his Porsche area representative. Wanted me to know because I took delivery of a manual PTS GTS a few months ago. This was a topic we discussed when I was building my car over a year ago.

I believe it. Dealership friend has told me that an overwhelming majority of their GTS customers go for PDK. Makes sense for Porsche to discontinue options on models that people don't spec, especially when it's looking like incorporating hybrid will require a PDK anyway.
Hopefully, 3 pedals will live on with the .2 S, or maybe make a return for .2 base, especially if the T doesn't return for .2

I have a feeling the manual will only be available on the Turbo and GT3 as that rumor said. It makes financial sense for Porsche to make us die hard manual guys pay up for the option, just like they did by deleting it from the base model.

I bought a 2023 911 Carrera GTS with a manual a couple months ago specifically because of the rumor the manuals may not be an option going forward. I was on my dealers list to order a new one when they had their next allocation however because of the short time window between switching models I wasn't guaranteed a manual would be an option by the time they were able to place an order. I absolutely did not want an automatic so I began looking at what was out there and stumbled upon the GTS I own now. I am so glad I found one as it is such joy to drive I couldn't imagine driving one of these cars and not being able to shift gears!
