It’s the most important one for folks with young kids. The manual GTS was the highest trim available with back seats. Significant for some.

A GTS is just an S with 30 more horsepower, and the S is still available in manual as far as we know.

Not completely. Been well covered before. Better brakes and Turbo helper springs in addition to the juiced tune. Resale and appearance items notwithstanding.

Don’t forget the wheels I wouldn’t want.

It has a few more things that are not on the S, such as the bigger brakes from the Turbo, the stacked twin-spring rear suspension, mechanical LSD with the manual (maybe this can be spec'd on the S), and the PITA, but sweet looking, Centerlock wheels from the Turbo S. And maybe a few other bits and bobs that you cannot up-spec on a S. But, your sentiment is accurate - a S can be spec'd with the interesting bits to make it an almost GTS that matters for most drivers.

I hope the .2 GTS has a manual, but if they offer the Turbo with a manual instead, it's not the end of the world. It will raise the base price of the highest spec 911, you can get with a manual, though, and make it harder for a larger population to get one. And that will in turn drive down the manual take rate, for the bean counters to further make the case to kill the manuals. I really hope they bring it back on the base 911, and keep it on S - want more people to be able to pick up a manual 911. The 992 turbo motor with a manual is a joy.

Yah, can’t afford to get a flat tire in Minot, ND where Bill’s auto repair will have a 305 Michelin on the rack.

PS: Can’t believe I trolled and no one picked up on it.

Earlier in the first quarter, I spoke with a General Manager who is a family friend. He recommended securing the GTS manual as soon as possible since it's being discontinued. Consequently, I located a local allocation and managed to negotiate a $5,000 market adjustment. My build is expected to be finalized next week, fingers crossed. I just hope my Sales Associate doesn't call to renegotiate the market adjustment!

They'll wait until delivery day and try to hit you for $3,500 ceramic coating.

That's not bad! My market adjustment for a Targa GTS is a Porsche eBike... speaking of which, does anyone want to buy an eBike with Porsche decals on it? 🤣

Wheels are an option you could change to 5 lug if you wanted. No need to point out your hate for CLs.

That's not horrible - for a second I thought you say Taycan... not Targa. Whew...
