I need help here with MY22 gt3, I have managed to reset the oil change reminder with PIWIS 3 ver 40.9. The PIWIS says it's completed successfully. However the the reminder message still appears, the distance to next oil change is reset but the number of days to next oil changes stays the same. Anyone who has dealt with this before? Thanks!

so the conclusion is to reset oil change DIY properly it needs to be done in PCM and also PIWIS/Autel (for the dash reminder/counter) ?

If it can be done in PCM you need PCM 6 as I've not been able to do this via PCM 5 only via PIWIS.

Yes!

You still need PIWIS. It cannot be done solely in PCM 6 (…see my prior posts). PCM 6 only allows you to clear it in the PCM. It does not rectify the dash messages in the instrument cluster.

I said IF as someone posited that they can and did. I can't on my 2021 and just use PIWIS.

The other thread (and this one?) said the Autel can clear it and you don't need the PIWIS. Even the Autel 808 can do it as reported by others. At least that is what I read, not first hand data.

The discussion is not which analyzer can or can't do it, but whether you need one at all and instead use the PCM to reset it.

I understand. But most people are not going to have sufficient tech skills to setup one of these PIWIS laptops with the grey market software and the interface hardware et al, and run it. Buying a commercial diagnostic tool for a few hundred dollars, that also works on other cars (does the same device do VAG?) is a lot easier I think.

VAG only works on VDub, Audi, SEAT and Lambo it certainly won't work on Porsche nor Toyotas etc. (I use it for my V8 Treg).

Launch will work with myriads of cars but there is a learning curve as sometimes the Chinese translations are confusing. Stuff that is in BCM1 for example in PIWIS may be in BCM2 for example. DRL is actually called DDL (Daytime Driving Lights) in Launch (that took me some time to find out) etc. Also features for more recent cars will not be available on other testers.

Whatever solution you pick there will be some learning curves. Take the time and review what many people here have spent countless hours deciphering or the cheapest and easiest way is use the geographic locator on rennlist and find someone in your neighborhood to do it for you for a case of beer or whatever.

Again the recent thread deals with PCM and not which analyzer can do an SRI.

Confirmed, today I used Autel 2024 MK808BT PRO 2.0 Version to clear Oil Rest Reminder message showing days left. Amazon had the unit on sale.
Followed the screen shot write up another member shared while using Autel. Write up was spot on! First try the message cleared.

Was on the fence about buying tool. Decided to purchase when another family member needed scanner to replace brakes on VW.
Was happy Autel has another use besides my need for annual oil change.

You have a PCM6 car? Yes that was my point up thread, the same unit can do other cars. The PIWIS is Porsche only.

I must say I am totally confused by the Autel website, all the different model numbers and variations they make. I can't make sense of it all, how to know what to buy - but then again I am not in immediate need of this unit.

I was looking into MX808 and then someone also mentioned to get the MX900 came across this comparison:
https://www.auteleshop.com/service/a...s-mp808ts.html

According to this MX900 is the replacement model for MX808: https://store.autel.com/products/maxicheck-mx900.

And I also found this regarding the different series: MX vs MK vs MS http://blog.obdii365.com/2023/07/10/...-ts-bt-series/

Hope this helps.

I've got the MX808S and have used it on my 2023 with no issues for service reset.

The Autel website only makes sense if you speak Mandarin Chinese.
