The dealer called and has an allocation for 911 S with a May 2024 delivery date.
Should I take the allocation for 2024 or defer for the new 2025 model? The dealer would allow the latter.

A bird in the hand is two in the bush. Furthermore a MY25 will be a 992.2 and there are plenty of unknowns as to what will come with the refresh via the .2. 48v mild hybrid and no manual are two of the main concerns.

Take the allocation and enjoy the car this summer. It’s a no brainer. You don’t know what will come in 2025. You could always trade in the 2024 if the 2025 is somehow appealing to you.

Not to mention that the first year the new .2 powertrain will likely have bugs. You want to enjoy the car not live in a Macan loaner.

I wanted to add that I am on the waitlist for a 992 C2S and have been informed that it will be approx 2.5-3 years. I was offered a T allocation late Summer ‘23 and that is the direction I am going for the time being. Hopefully it will be arriving this week.
Anyways… With all that said, I would not give it a second thought and take the allocation.

Why would you wait? Are you assuming the 2025 will be better than the 2024 for some reason? If yes, you know more than anyone else on this board. Take the 2024, gratification now vs. 1.5-2 years from now.
