Not for this market demographic - in fact the lower rates and credit expansion coming may actually increase demand for "hot money" purchases like this. You need an asset bubble recession/implosion to reduce demand for luxury goods.

I have a 2022 Base Cab, wanted a manual S Coupe but was told it was a 2 year wait when I ordered the convertible in 2021/2022. For me, the change from 992.1 Base Cab to 992.1 S Coupe didn't seem worth the outlay but I'm still debating it in my head. There was mention of ADM which really pissed and put me off, especially as I have waiting 2 years was getting pushed with follow up calls during the holidays with family.

I think overall, I'll hold my car and see what the latest / greatest 992.2 brings in 2025.

In the same boat here, but with rumors of GTS being NA for .2, I'm holding off to see how that turns out. I was told there's a $20K ADM for the .1 S, so it's an easier choice for me.

This was my exact sentiment when I was going through illness recently.

I agree on this. I don't think the .2 will be a step backwards but i think people will have some strong sentiments to design and hybridisation or any other mid-lifecycle changes.

Wait and get the .2. Everyone knows it will be superior especially if it's goes NA with battery assist. As to price increase argument, If you can afford a .1, you can afford .2.

Dont settle for yesterdays stale bread. You'll be happier and that much more appreciative when it comes.

Maybe you could talk to your dealer and see about ordering the 992.1 and if/when you have more info on the 992.2 you could decide to pull out of the 992.1 without penalty? I would think as long as you aren't ordering some crazy spec, they would be okay with this. Worth asking.

I like that a 992.1 is yesterday's stale bread. By that logic, no one should want anything other than the latest car. Good way to keep new cars sales up i suppose and used car prices down...if only it were the case.

A spring delivery of a new 992 S that you can build to your specs is unlikely to be something you regret. Drive the car now vs waiting maybe two years for an unknown outcome.

In Oct. 2023, I got on 2 dealers wait lists for a 992 C2S. Was told estimated 1 to 3 year wait time for an allocation. In late Nov. 2023 I reached out to a 3rd dealer and scored an allocation for a 992.1 C2S March Build slot at MSRP. Deposit made, and build locks in a few weeks.

Got a call from dealer #2 today and offered an allocation for a 992.1 C4S, May build slot at MSRP. Seems like allocations are popping up here and there, and the multi-year wait times are starting to go away.......

I'm not sure what the 992.2 will bring us, yet the 992.1 will be a great addition to my garage and I'm sure will provide many miles of smiles. A bird in the hand is worth 3 in the tree these days.....

Allocations are definitely coming up much earlier and cars are also coming to the dealers waiting to be sold. Today I saw a brand new S waiting to be sold on the showroom in my dealer while I was getting service done on another car. I also received two emails this morning from two other dealers asking if I was still in the market as they have allocation for a T and a 4S.

There is not an infinite demand for a 911 and Porsche caught up on the supply side. By summer I expect to see 911s to choose from dealer lots no ADMs and even discounts (non gt models).

It's regional...my local market in the LA/OC area is still holding firm on ADMs. Some people have posted here that San Diego is offering MSRP. Nonetheless, dealerships here are still asking for ADMs and you will be told to kick rocks at MSRP.
