Sigh. It looks like @notyetporschedad is another reincarnation of our classic RennList troll.

Why did you switch down to a base carrera? I’ve read that the S model can be less pleasant to drive due to being too quick and noticeable turbo lag. Was anything like that a factor? I’ve never heard of another car where the high performance variants are less fun than the lower trims, so I’m trying to wrap my head around the concept

The base engine with the smaller turbos rev out a little more like a NA engine versus the S or GTS with the larger turbos. The base car is plenty of power for everyday driving and the S is marginally quicker. Some people forgo the base model because the lack of manual or rear diff but if you're not looking for those options in particular then those are all moot points. There are so many 911 variants, you always will want the next variant up unless you can score an S/T allocation so get what's in your budget and enjoy

Wanted a semi-daily driver. Base offered the most compliant ride, the most ground clearance, and all the performance I need for a daily. Decide how you're going to use the car,, each 911 variant has a sweet spot for use, make sure your use and that sweet spot overlap as much as possible.

Why? I’m asking a genuine question.

I see a rational progression in his threads. Although my money is on him not buying one. Willing to wager a lunch. Winner gets a $20 uber food delivery.

LMFAO!!! Yeah, definitely stick with the base Carrera b/c the S’s turbo lag is horrendous. I’m afraid to be in any merge lane because a Toyota Camry right next to me smokes me until I can hit 5000 RPMs when turbos finally kick in. It’s as laggy as a 2JZ with a giant single turbo.

More like every two weeks. We'll be as patient as possible (and most of us will ignore these kinds of posts) since "someone like you" will lose interest and wander off soon enough.
