I specifically masked my SA at Porsche San Diego, and he told me there is no adm. my wait was just short of 2 months, with delivery 3months from config freeze

Is the market just slow in San Diego? Seems unlikely but I’ve seen similar posts recently.

Allocations are definitely picking back up. I'm in Dallas and was offered an allocation for either a S or 4S. My dad got an allocation for a T from San Diego with late February delivery and no ADM. He already had an order in at Pasadena with April delivery and asked them if they would drop or decrease their ADM and they said no so he cancelled that one.

I called my SA to ask for a candid response on dropping the ADM. His reply was that he lowered my ADM because he "values" my business but they're not doing MSRP. Might have to shop around more...

Market booming now - demand and ADM going even higher I bet in the coming weeks. Lock in what you can fast. I think I may bail on my "order" (which of course isn't an actual order), been 9 months, maybe I will just sit on the list until the 992.2 is announced. I am looking at different pre-owned cars now as alternatives, ready to throw in the towel here soon.

The stock market, bitcoin, etc. Even bonds are going to rise in price as rates fall in 2024. That's where the money comes from to buy cars like this, they are "hot money" purchases.

It'll be very interesting to see how 911 allocations (and ADM's) play out in the coming year with 992.2 arriving, and the first 911 hybrid along with it. Clearly allocations for (non GT) 992 are far lower than dealers are accustomed to, but it's not clear why allocations have been reduced? Strategically it's advantageous for Porsche to have pent-up demand as they launch the first 911 hybrid, which I'd assume has some folks nervous internally. Together with the Boxster EV, there's a big shift coming, and again it makes sense especially now for Porsche to ratchet up desire with halo 911s like ST and Dakar, GT3 RS etc. But I'd be surprised if in the long term, the intended "new normal" is paying markup for non GT 911's.

Interesting. I was on their list for MSRP for well over a year. Stopped in a few times to see how I was moving up the list. It was slow so I called several other dealers in Nov. 2022. One of them called me out of the blue in March of 2023 with an allocation that I grabbed.

I never told Porsche San Diego that I now have a car, yet I still haven’t heard back from them on getting an allocation. Maybe I should stop in and see where I am on their list.
