Ok before I unscrew the steering wheel bolt, is there anything else I need to do? I disconnected the top yellow connector and the red one near the bottom. Does the yellow connector actually need to be disconnected from the black cables that actually feed into each side of it?
That looks ready to come off. Just route cables through the opening. Make sure nothing is snagged on the clock spring face and you are golden.

Thanks so much and to everyone else’s tips! It came off without issue and finished the install. Luckily no lights came on afterwards. The pedals feel great. Also had to reset the windows as @22992 laid out.

My package started off in California on Monday and seemed to be moving around California all week. Today, USPS tracking says it arrived in Illinois. Tracking says it will be delivered on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see if it can take 6 days to go from California to Illinois and 2 days to go from Illinois to Hawaii. I'm not in any hurry because I still need to find out where to buy a steering wheel and airbag to fit the shifter into a 991.1. I am curious about why this package has to travel around almost the whole country.
Finally got around to installing the paddles, took all of 20 minutes including waiting 10 minutes after disconnecting the battery. No error codes, just had to relearn the windows. I’ll wait for the GT3rs paddles to get here before doing final placement tweaks.
For those who threw codes, did you have to use M-Tuner or similar or did they clear on their own?
I got a CEL soon as I started the car. Attempted a couple of resets by disconnecting the battery to no avail, so I ordered an iCarsoft to clear the code.
Started the car again the next day and the code was gone...iCarsoft arrived later that day.
What paddles are these? I like those.
One a different note - I have not opened my wheel yet but thought the top yellow connector stays on the column and not on the wheel itself?

My airbag code never stopped UNTIL I cleared it with iCarsoftPOR V.3.0 from Amazon. Lost some sleep because I thought I screwed up the install.
Probably related to disconnecting the battery too many times.
Take 5mg diazepam (Valium) and jump on it. Ain't no big deal.
It was a little intimidating for me as well, and I have a lot of experience working on cars. mostly older cars, where the troubleshooting steps were wrench, longer wrench, longest wrench, hammer n wrench, map gas torch, cutting torch. Cars these days are very delicate comparatively. Just take the time needed, don’t rush, and don’t pull out any of the tools mentioned above.
