For those interested in a C4, I had one SA give me some nice details.

As of yesterday, there are only three available C4 in the U.S.
Two you can see in the Porsche USA search (both in Southern California) and there is a third incoming car to Minneapolis. This car is being built or is built, so you cannot configure it.
It's Shark Blue with an MSRP of close to $155K (so lots of options apparently). Good luck if this helps anyone.

WIth the ongoing parts shortages, I can see the 992.2 being delayed a few months to a year.

Been waiting for T allocation, just spoke to My SA he thinks mid March not sure if I believe it, he has been promising since December, what is the feeling in pre trading ? I’m not sure I want to give up my 911 cab with spring around corner and the dealership wants to hold on my cash.

991.2 first year in 2017 had Targa 4S and GTS so it is would not be unexpected.

Not sure about that. Downside is no fun until new car arrives. Upside is if you believe prices are coming down, pre-trade for todays higher value. I did the pre-trade and probably saved a few thousand.

The other downside is the dealer has no firm idea when the allocation will be available.

Says December, now says mid March. In a couple of weeks, might say mid April.

Then what?

Car is already traded in, and you're just stuck waiting, don't even have a trade-in for leverage anymore.

few thousand… but you have NO idea when car will be here

so you’re out of a car for a summer/nice driving weather for a couple grand? That’s the downside for me

How about the sales tax wash? I know each state may be different, but if you pre-trade you probably lose that?

True, that's the trade-off. My dealer said they won't pre-trade unless they are certain they have an allocation because, as stated in the previous post, if it goes over a year you lose your tax advantage. No one best answer here, only personal preference. I did it because I believed values were dropping on trades (they were and are) AND I was paranoid something might happen to my trade by way of collision or mechanical issue while I waited for my new car. YMMV.

I pre traded once i had my allocation. Market is starting to go down on the pre-owned cars so I made what I thought was the better financial choice. However I would have never pretraded if I didn't have an allocation.

Heard back from my SA. They only got 2 sports car allocations and neither was a C2S. I may pick up a pre-owned 992 and be done with it. If an allocation comes through later this year or next, I can decide then what to do.

So.. I'm guessing this round of allocations are done at this point. Should we make a poll to see who got what?

If allocations are quarterly, next will be around beginning of June then right
