Is this confirmed? It seemed like we might start to see the 992.2 generation, at least in some variants, for model year 2024.

Well my Carrera T allocation is for a 2024, no change vs. 2023 - except $8k more expensive.

Enjoy the car; I just love GR!
Thank you for the kind words. I had ~ 16 months to play with the configurator and I still fiddled with options right up until my lock date.

Question. I just received an allocation for a June build, with a July delivery. But, its a 2024 with the price increase. I it common for Porsche to deliver 23's and 24's the same month?
I honestly don't know the answer... My allocation is for a 2023 MY with a June build and is (currently) scheduled for completion on June 23. The dealer hasn't given me ANY indication that could/would change to 2024, but what @SS22 says is completely reasonable. I'm certainly hoping it makes the cut, as I'd love to save ~ $8k by getting a 23 model.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. It's not something I'd really thought of, but certainly makes sense. With a late June build, it sounds like anything could happen. My lock date was 4/27 but it's not scheduled to begin production until 6/1. I'm hoping the production date will move up a bit, but that may be wishful thinking....

The current configurator reflects 24 MY options and pricing, so I'd say 992.2 will be 2025

@CZS your situation makes more sense to me for the June build to still be 2023.

And yes, it’s been widely confirmed and all you have to do is look at the Configurator to see that basically nothing has changed for 2024. Most notable “change” was removing a few colors like python green. No substantive change at all. 2025 MY is expected to be 992.2 (starting with some trims and trickling to others)

Not sure about that. I have a June build, and a July delivery. It’s a 24.

Do you have a VIN#? Lookup your VIN, it will show the model year.

Also, did you sign a purchase agreement with your dealer when you got the allocation? When I go my allocation I signed the purchase agreement which lays out everything I’m paying for. It’s signed by the dealer as well, so I have documentation showing the price I’m paying when the car arrives.

No VIN assigned to my knowledge, the order only locked on the 27th. When I placed my deposit on the car back in Jan 2022 we signed a Deposit Agreement at "MSRP + $399 doc fee" so if the car gets bumped to a 24 model, I definitely won't have any price protection. Honestly, when I got the call from the dealer I fully expected it to be a 2024 allocation and was pleasantly surprised when he said it was actually a 2023. If it gets bumped I'll be a little disappointed (and out $8k) but I won't be overly surprised.

Which digits of the VIN represent the model year?

Crazy to me that a bare bones Carrera T build is $130K. Insanely expensive considering that is a decent equipped C2s 2.5 years ago.

I have seen cars "available to purchase" at Beverly Hills Porsche recently. I am assuming that people just walking away from their orders now esp with recent rate hikes.

Doubtful. Mostly likely BHP asking insanely high ADM.

I’m not sure which part of the VIN shows the year, but if you go to https://vinanalytics.com and put in your VIN it will show you the model year.

Screenshot of how mine looks below:

I found more details online. It’s the 10th character as mentioned on a post further above, and here is the decoder table:
