lmao- with some people though, you'll get to a point where they just walk out. Maybe not everybody...but some will walk.

Also, how legit are these dealer lists? Very likely a lot of people wanted to buy a nice C2S for $130k in 2021 with 2% financing and got on a list. But in 2023, that car is now $150k with 8% financing and costs an extra $1k/month as the economy is in a nose dive with white-collar layoffs.

Either Porsche's finance guy is absolutely correct about brand demand being bulletproof and global wait lists don't flinch at the increase (in which case 992.2 C2S will be so obscenely expensive its not worth even guessing the price) or the last refuge of the everything bubble is about to meet reality.
Clearly you do not understand how the Porsche ADM market works.

I think he was just referring to the same total price scenario. Dealer could still ask same ADM as before, I guess. And the customer could also walk out.

Hey everyone, have been a long time lurker on here and am finally posting. Love the wealth of knowledge on this forum! I am hoping to get my first 911 (base) this year and have been mulling over the whole ADM bs. I'm in SoCal and have been talking to my SA (bought a Cayenne S back in 2021 for slightly under MSRP). He told me today that any new allocations are for MY2024 922.1 along with the lovely price increases of this morning. He also said that any allocations later this year in Q4 will be for MY2024 922.2. So the price increase of today is for the exact same car 922.1 no changes. I asked him about the changes from 922.1 and 922.2 and he said front and rear bumpers along with a little more horsepower (for the base). Oh and he said base model allocations are 10K and S models 15K.

Is it worth it to wait for the 992.2 (allocation in Q4 2023 with delivery in Q1 2024), or pay the price hike of today for a 992.1? I feel a little sour about paying the 8-9% increase for a car with no new changes (face life and a little more horse power). All thoughts welcome, thanks again!

I think 992.2 will be for MY2025 and will have even a higher price. It makes no sense for Porsche to have .1 and .2 for the same MY and for the same trim (different trims, sure). And it also makes no sense for them to charge the same MSRP for the .1 as they do the .2. So if I were you I’d think do I want a very refined .1 (later MYs of the same gen/sub-gen naturally get any bugs out) for this pricing (hopefully you can negotiate down the ADM), or wait for .2 for even a higher price. For the .2, I think they’ll come out with the turbo hybrid first before S and it may be a while that you’re waiting, possibly a year. Stand firm and try to negotiate down the ADM. You’re one of their first test cases of how people react to the price increase and ADM. Of course, they’ll try to get as much as they can but hopefully people balk and they back off.

Yep, Targas are a very nice place to park money while everyone else goes nuts on GT3 ADM. They’re pretty, fun to drive, and especially delightful with 3 pedals.

Kool Aide indeed. Hillarious as it is true.
Could anyone be naive enough to believe that the American public is not paying the bill for this "bailout". Simply amazing.

Not a PDK though. Targa manuals are much better insurance than SVB bank accounts

I was in training today and my SA called. I called him back later and he wanted to know if I was ready to order a new car, I just purchased my 2022 car in December 2022. I said why would I, they just increased the price on the C2 by $10K for basically the same car. He said he had not heard about any price increases but he thought I might be ready for a new one. He said they would never charge me ADM or anything like that. When is the last time a SA called and offered you a chance to order a new 911 at MSRP?

Wow! There’s not just one thing bizarre about that. Where are you located?!

Tell them you’ll gladly take them up on the offer under these conditions - no ADM and no add ons + they purchase your car for exactly what you paid and add the tax. Otherwise, why would you purchase a new car when you just bought one in Dec.
