$5000 ADM on a 2023 Base 992
Hey guys, so the Porsche Dealership down the block from me has an allocation for January for a base model 911 which I can spec to my liking, for $5000 above MSRP. He says I could get it as early as Febuary, but he won't budge on the adm, not even by half.. In this market, is this ADM "fair?" I'm hearing mixed opinions from people, that a base shouldn't have adm at all, and some say given the quick turn around that it may be worth it.

Listen same car will cost $5k more next year at MSRP. Just cut the check & move on.

$5 k is fair but to clarify if the allocation is for January you are not getting the car in February.
This may be semantics but you should confirm with your dealer when the allocation is effective, when is the configuration lock date ?
I just too took delivery of a 2023 cabriolet.
Allocation was June 2022 delivery was November 2022 - that’s 6 months from allocation to delivery.

Well that's initially what he said when I first contacted the dealership. When I sat down with him, he said I could expect it by March April latest, sorry I should have specified that.

Take the deal (with an ADM of 5k).
When the car comes, renegotiate. Hard.
At that point it's a game of chicken.
You want the car.
Dealer wants to sell the car.
Dealer has a car on hand that is spec'd to your liking (which may or may not sell quickly) and is thus taking up precious floor space.
See who blinks first.
Just go in with a fresh bottle of eyedrops.
Good luck.

I can imagine how well that would work when he knows he can keep my deposit money if I decide to walk away 😅

So wait, I can custom order a new 992 with my own specs, put a deposit down, and in X amount of months when the car arrives, I can change my mind and get my deposit back? I feel like that sounds like the dealer has a bit to lose taking a new customer's word that he's going to buy the car for sure.

$5k sounds right in this market. It’s the same ADM amount my west coast dealer was charging for a base 992 early this year. Like others have said, prices will only increase; better to have the car and enjoy it.

15K for a Carrera T here. I've gotten feedback both ways, that it's not a bad markup in this climate but others who wouldn't do it. I was also told by my SA that the deposit is refundable and I can walk away at any point before completing the purchase and taking delivery. Feels like I could negotiate IF i can find another one available asking less markup before then, but I wont hold my breath and for now just be happy I found a buildable allocation for the car I want.
