$5000 ADM on a 2023 Base 992

I am sure they are working their way through their "list". If anyone else on the list will pay $2501 over MSRP, they will get the car before you. If not, then you will hear form them - unless someone "higher" on their list (based on timing, relationship, trade,, etc) will pay $2500 over. It's not rocket science.

That's some true willpower there. I'd just pay the additional $2500 and get the dream started! I know others will be critical of my sentiment, but life is short. Also, as others have mentioned, MSRP increases are probably coming for MY24, so a MY23 with 5k ADM will likely be cheaper than a MY24 at MSRP.

I’m guessing they don’t believe you and would leave for whoever would give you the best deal. In this case, $2500 over MSRP.
I’m also thinking it isn’t about the money for you, you want to feel like you “won.” Nothing wrong with that.

I'm guessing that you are new to the Porsche brand. FYI...a customer who walks over $2,500 in this market is not the "customer for life" that they are looking for. I'm not saying that you are wrong in walking, I'm just saying that they won't care and that is why you haven't heard back from them.

This...dealers know that their business model has a short future and they don't care what you are going to do in 5 or 10 years...they are trying to milk every dollar while they can. By the time you are ready for your next car, they will very likely be on an agency model where the car is allocated from the manufacturer to the end customer, and the dealer gets a flat commission for being the delivery point.

You did this over text?
Call them up and offer them the $2,500 over (or whatever you feel comfy with) and get them to respond. Better yet, drop by, if you're able, and make them tell you to your face. There won't be any agonizing over waiting for a return volley text.

I spoke to him in person in his office after the test drive and I tried to bring him down on the ADM there as well. He insisted the market isn't cooling and he can get more than $5000 adm for it.

Not a 911, but my local VW dealer is doing 5k over on two incoming Golf R's. No deposit until the car leaves the port, but they already have a healthy list to jump on it at 5k over. Just food for thought.

And just to put yourself in the mind of the sales guy, they care about what they are selling today, maybe next week. Customer for life doesn't cross their mind and isn't a selling point.

Likely because >90% of those "customers for life" will go to the dealership down the road for the next car if they can save $1,000, quickly forgetting the "relationship" until they need the next favor or deal.

So absolutely true. I work in sales and can attest to both of these points.

We will never know whether it is or isn't. The dealers and PCNA will always work it so cars never appear "on the lot" anymore, those days are over forever. Auto sales, especially in this segment but even in "lesser" brands, will be a manipulated market going forward with no transparency on price and inventory and demand.

You get the idea.
Sales guys worry about the "now" ... Tomorrow can wait.
