Curious what build dates people are seeing for their recent allocations? Are we talking 6+ months out, so possibly a 2024 model.. which could be a 992.2.

It's not unrelated. Teslas pricing is very transparent because they can't hide incentives in under the table cash to dealers to move cars at a discount. What Tesla just did is a sign demand across the industry is dropping...this is why every major automakers stock dropped by a significant amount today.

Um, that’s one interpretation of Tesla’s price drop. Another interpretation is that Tesla itself is having an issue selling its cars because its CEO continues to say and do things that aggravates a large portion of their customers, and that its competitors are coming out with newer and better products while Tesla seems content to continuing selling four different models that are seven years old now, on average.

It seems to be a prevalent interpretation. How else do you explain all the other automaker stocks (F, GM, VWAGY, STLA) posting large declines after that announcement despite a up day in the market. No way to know for sure until other automakers release their quarterly results.
Because the market has become a bunch of lemmings that trade based on trends and future movement expectations instead of fundamentals. It seems you are routing for economic mayhem.

Not rooting for economic mayhem, however we should all be hoping for a return to normalcy in both asset prices and inflation....there will need to be some pain for that to occur.

https://flip.it/M2QFdz Car inventory is growing, sales are down--dealers may soon need to offer discounts
I think this varies more with lower number cars like the 911, less so with cayennes and macans. Greed is another factor impeding price readjustments, but there's pressure from Mannheim numbers.
I think the only factor that may hold the 911 prices after august is the "new" model. The factory can't holdback on production numbers, they don't profit enough per model (vis a vis Ferrari) to sustain build to order line. If there will be leftover 992s on the lots is hard to tell, maybe not as time is running.
I'd like to see how well this thread will age. 1 year from now we may be talking about MSRP discounts.

Shouldn't be long for Macan/Cayenne discounts - discounts are already readily on the table for most of the lineup at BMW (except M coupes/sedans). 911 is a wild card and depends on how much demand there actually is on the "waiting lists" - really impossible for anyone to figure out at this point because almost every buyer looking for a car has contacted multiple dealers and placed themselves on a "waiting list"

I would expect a bit of impact to 911 prices especially second half of 2023

Just when you think it’s about to be MSRP or less, JPow will wreck your plans.

I'm sure that MSRP increase from MY23 to MY24 is going to be healthy.

Paying ADM is ridiculous, it is merely a circumstance of pandemic supply issues and too much easy money, which will be rectified in due time. One local dealer currently has 79 pre-owned 911's for sale, many of them 992 GT3s with extremely low milage that were bought to flip for profit, another dealer has 39 pre-owned 911s for sale. I wonder how long they will sit before being sold for significant discounts. Patience is a virtue, and will save you a lot of money as we transition from unusual to usual times. To the OP, you are just playing in to the sales person's games, who likely feels you are an unsophisticated novice purchaser. I would walk away.
