Folk, you have to understand YouTube content creators get views and comments from making a wild claim and getting people to argue it. It's great engagement. When Porsche offers a vehicle with like 24 different trims, creating a video saying one is the ultimate is going to have 23 trims of hopeful owners/fans/owners ready with the pitchforks.

Nick is probably right that the C2S is the sweet spot for most people who want a do it all sports car. The combination of the standard widebody on all 992 cars, PTV+, the availability of a manual and the available combination of options seems like a good fit for most people. Yes the GTS is more powerful, has some more performance features, but do they make it a better fit for most people? I'm not sure. The 4S trim is the same but all wheel drive for those of you who need more traction.

The basic C2 and C2S trims are SO good that you're getting an excellent vehicle with even no options. Porsche let's you customize the hell out of every trim to your specific needs and wants, but I think Nick's point that the C2S is the jack of all trades trim of the ultimate jack of all trades sports car / GT car is a pretty solid position.

these cars were in our area recently
I could not make it , but my son went

I had a 992 C4S that I just sold awaiting my TTS coming in next month " God willing"
my son loved the GTS for whatever it is worth

I owned a 991.2 GTS for 5 years. Drove a 991.2 S on track for a couple hours at a Porsche event and can say that I found the GTS to be noticeable superior in every way including appearance.

Nick rags on the TTS and GTS. I wonder has Nick ever owned a GTS or TTS or even driven them enough to have a credible opinion.

Nick Murray has said repeatedly that the GTS is a great car, the question is "Is it better than an S ?". He has tried to borrow a GTS to compare directly to an S but has been unable to. He said someone offered but then backed out when he couldn't be assured the review would be 100% favorable. I like Nick's videos but I disagree with some of his statements. He is an often wrong but never in doubt type. One wonders why someone who has a high paying job bothers to do Youtube and sell T shirts.

Nailed it.

Don’t try to challenge him on those opinions either. He gets prickly. 😆

The extra pull to the top cannot be mistaken. The setup takes minutes and can be tailored to your preference with exhaust, and what octane you want. My friends tuned 997.2 turbo would pull on my 4S a couple car lengths. After the tune I pull him the way he pulled on me. Been driving with the tune for a couple thousand miles and nothing negative to report

Sure, the GTS feels more like a natural aspirated engine, the turbo has turbo punch from low rpms. Disclaimer: I only driven a 997 turbo s so far, but I have read that the 992 turbo has more of a turbo characteristic as well.
To be completely honest I also like the turbo punch but I think that the engine characteristics of the GTS suits a manual car better and I ordered the GTS with a manual.
Manual and weight were also the reasons why I didn't get a turbo. I don't care so much about engine power (no matter how much hp I have, I always tend to think that 50hp more would be nice), fun is not a straight line. And I don't like the aggressive look of the turbo. I think the non turbo 992 are much more elegant. Btw, I think the rear on the 992s looks better than the one of the GTS.

Im not a huge fan of Nick but I think he makes some valid points. What he’s basically saying is that there wasn’t enough done on the 992 GTS to differentiate it from the S on paper. And he used the 718 as an example, where the GTS gets completely different engine hardware not just a tune. He pointed out that helper springs from 992 Turbo were on the Turbo because of the added weight of the 3.8 engine and feels Porsche just used a parts bin approach to pull it in to the GTS but the GTS has the smaller lighter engine. His takeaway is that GTS is a hit or miss upgrade when taken in to account the price penalty. For the 718 it’s a hit. For the Macan it’s a huge miss. 992 is for debate until he has a chance to compare directly.

Some people just need their hands held.

Nick is no technical expert on these cars and I believe he often conveys that to his minions.
