To some degree this thread is like arguing over the best flavor of ice cream, except you will have to explain to me for a daily driver what an S offers that a Carrera does not.
Option for manual, noticeably faster.
Agree the base 911 is more than sufficient for a daily.
I like Nick and value his opinions because he is able to drive so many 911 variations and can provide real world feedback.
Having said that buying a $150k car is NOT a rational decision but an emotional one.
GTS is a sportier variant over the S even if its by the thinnest of margins. Nick is not into hardcore driving so for him the S is better because its cheaper and offers more build options without the need of having “forced” options that GTS come with.
I thinks as daily - the S is a better fit.
GTS is for ppl that value a more raw driving experience and plan to occasionally track the car. I think most GTS owners would get a GT3 if it was possible and most S owners would get a Turbo S if money wasn’t an issue.
Personally I would get RWD GTS coupe over S and waiting on allocation.
I have an S and have no inclination to get a Turbo or Turbo S. Or a GTS for that matter (why spend money on things I don't need or want?). But a GT3, maybe......!

To some extent this thread is a bit like arguing which metaphor is better, discussion about towel preferences or ice cream favorites, they all get the job done eh

This is exactly why I decided to go for a GTS. 4 or 5 track days/ year and daily drive all year around. Nov 18th is approaching and can't wait to jump into my new C2 GTS
Nick Murray is awesome…and spot on! 👍 Keep telling it like it is, Nick.
Bet he’s having a good chuckle at this thread.
I always think people who validate my opinion are awesome as well Every now and again, I'll find a way to tolerate someone who challenges my opinion... but it's hard work
I haven't tuned in to Rennlist in a while, wow the content is completely different. I didn't know what colors to not get for my C2S until Nick Murray told me. But I got one of them anyways.

Over the time I have been reading Rennlist, one thing has become very clear to me - many people need validation that their choice, or choices are correct, or run parallel with the majority consensus. Nick is just another voice in a sea of opinions. Personally, I like him because on many things, he takes a contrarian position. But in the end, it’s only his opinion.
Some of us choose their own path, and decide for themselves…on everything from what to buy, to which political candidate to support.
I love Nick Murray
He laughs at himself, he posts the nasty things people write about him, he does not take himself too seriously.
No, I don't agree with everything he says
My 4S has pulled me out of trouble here that I don't think I would have been able to do in the 2S
PPF is a waste
The underdoor projector is just cool...
Attached is an email exchange I had with him when I got my car.
I got the puddle lights on my M4, but not the 992..at least not yet. Yes, i think the puddle lights are cool, too. Maybe a bit gimmicky, but who cares?

Right. Very little technical discussion and lots of speculation & opinions in the forum.

I thought they were a gimmick too until we bought the Mercedes off the lot with them fitted. Our friends who occasionally ride in it love them!
