Europipe Sport Cats

What year is your car? I think the difference in the 2020s are more pronounced than 2021. Some with 2020 models have gotten their ECUs updated and complained that their exhaust sounded much tamer after the update.
It could also just be my expectations as I am used to running aftermarket exhausts on all my cars and just like louder cars in general. Still though, for the first 3000 miles or so, it was almost impossible to tell the difference btw normal and sport and the burbles in sport were barely perceptible and again, this is with the window rolled down and me trying hard to hear the difference.

I have a very obvious difference in sound with PSE on and off on a stock 2021. I also have a cab so with the top down there’s a huge increase in exhaust sound over having the top closed. If I had a coupe the stock exhaust would definitely be a little too quiet. I’m still debating just sport cats or just an exhaust in the future (both would be too loud for me) but we will see. The stock exhaust opens up very nicely after 10,000 miles. Much louder than when the car was new.

I need to take my exhaust off and to a tractor pull. Fill it up with soot so it sounds better. Ain’t got time to put 10k miles on it.

I’m sure your engine makes a lot more clunking noises now after 10.000 miles.

Usually after a couple thousand miles the exhaust would have been broken-in and the sound should be more pronounced. Nothing untypical.

My PSE definitely got a bit louder and had more character (pops and burbles etc) after 3k or so. Hasn't changed much since then, and I'm at 5k now.

My exhaust was louder after 2k miles because I changed my driving style. If you followed the break in instructions in the owner’s manual, the electric exhaust valve never opened for you until after your first 2k miles. Why? Valve begins opening @4k rpm which is max. rpm for first 2k miles per owners manual. So, maybe the change in sound is the change in driving style and rpm post break in? That is one advantage of a valveless exhaust and/or tune as they both can open the electronic valve to 100% throughout the entire rpm range. I could be wrong.

Installed a set of Europipe 100 cell cats on my 21 C4S MT. No CEL after 200 miles of a variety of driving. Stock tune. It's slightly louder but not rude. No real difference in the cabin. Quality stuff, very nice welds, popped right on. Expect a $125 customs fee if you order these.

Do you just replace the cats or more? I am interested to know how much sound difference just the cats make. I have an IPE valved exhaust and I don't really want or need it any louder - feels just right as is. But like the idea of better flowing cats.
