Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), they don't allow you to take your new car out on the track. They have a whole stable of cars there, almost everything Porsche makes. We drove a 992.2 S coupe, since it was the closest car to our Targa.
I've only driven it a few miles, since it went from PECLA to the detail shop for PPF. We picked it up late Saturday afternoon, and it's mostly been sitting in the garage, out of the rain, while the PPF cures. It's sunny with temps in the mid 60s today, so I took it out to run a few errands. With the top up, it's far superior to a cab in terms of visibility. That big, curved rear window is great. With the top off, I almost felt like I was driving a cab again. Even though I know there was a window behind me, it's so big that it seemed like there was nothing there. It really mimicked the sensation of driving a cab. I kept the windows down most of the time, and even though it was a bit chilly out, I felt more comfortable from a temp standpoint than I did in the cab. I think there is less wind in a cab with the deflector up than there is in the Targa. When I put the windows up, there was more buffeting than with the cab, but I found that lowering the windows by a couple of inches eliminated the buffeting noise.

Less reach-in vulnerability at lights, less feeling of being “on display” and less exposure to the lunatics on our streets.

Man, you have a lot of trust in that bicycle mount on the ceiling. Can I tell you how many of my friends through the years have had something fall on their Porsche? You might want to reconsider, just saying.
