992 feels like it hesitates at slow speeds

I have 992 Carrera base car. 5k miles. It feels like it hesitates sometimes at slow speeds. Almost like brake regeneration in an electric car or when a car is low on gas. Does anybody else have this feeling?

What gear are you in when this happens?

A dual clutch isn’t like an slush box/torque converter automatic. Whereas those cars will coast, you’ll get engine braking, which is what you’re feeling, until the computer decides that you’re going too slow for first gear.

Depending on how fast you lift your foot, it can also be the preloading of your brakes.
Take note of whether it only happens in Sport and Sport+. This matters as the car is only allowed to coast in Normal mode. This could be a factor in determining whether it is engine breaking or not.

Silly question: do you have ACC? I thought this was happening the other day in my Macan, but it turned out I'd accidentally re-engaged ACC at the minimum speed of 20 MPH after turning it off briefly. Subsequently, anytime I lifted at speeds > 20 MPH, the cruise control would apply light braking to slow the car down to 20 MPH.
It felt just like the brakes were dragging due to a bad pedal bushing, which recently happened on my 981.
Not the first time I've done that, either. Training myself to disengage cruise by pushing down on the stalk rather than back has been a real challenge.

I know what he’s talking about, though I actually like the feature. My 22 992 C2 is my first PDK and I was surprised by how you can one pedal drive at low speeds (mostly in manual shifting mode). Appears to be primarily engine braking similar to the feel when I had with my previous 18 718 S manual. In first gear in stop and go traffic the engine breaking was engouh that you could almost always use the car and gearing to control slow to mid speeds in traffic wthout hitting your brakes. With the PDK it seems similar, likely even more so bcs it has 8 gears vs 6 in my prev 718 S manual. It won’t let you roll to a stop like you could with the manual car, but it gets pretty close.

Normal for a PDK as stated. PDK is not an "automatic" transmission that most are used to. There is no torque converter and it doesnt coast like a regular automatic. The PDK is essentially a manual transmission with an electronic clutch, therefore it behaves like a manual would if you were to let off the gas moving slowly in low gear.
