PDCC---order won't take on new 992 GTS 4

Hello,
I wanted to add the PDCC on my 992 GTS 4 that freeze point is approaching. However, the order keeps on rejecting at the dealership. He says we can't have it. Has anyone else ran across this issue? I spec'd the order with rear wheel steering, so that isn't the issue.

I believe there is a shortage of parts required, causing temporary stop on ordering it. Similar situation with pccb brakes.

What can be done about this? Do you think they will let me add later while they're building the car? My delivery is supposed to be June. Or is it too late since I just reached the freeze point (I just reached FP today)?

Nothing you can do unless you want to pass on the car and wait, waiting possibly into model year 2023.

This is the whole supply chain challenge. Not new.
Skip it. The 911 isn’t a top heavy SUV. You don’t need it.

It is possible that the PDCC is kicking the order out (known stop sale on that) but if your freeze point is today it could also be possible that that is the reason regardless of the option you are trying to add.

It can’t be retrofitted to the car. If it’s not available at freeze, it’s not going to be on this car. If PDCC is critical, the best option is to ask the dealer if you can take this car and then maybe get on the list for another one and trade it in against one with PDCC next year. If the market remains hot, you won’t lose much money on the trade. If you choose to wait for car with PDCC , dealership should just transfer your deposit to the car… especially if they can’t build the car you want.
I would probably just accept it, it will save you money , and most people don’t think it’s critical option. Rear steering is a good option 👍

RAS is probably more “critical” than PDCC. Unless you’ve driven a car with it and it’s a “must have” for you, it may not be worth putting the order off . As far as flipping the car, sure that’s possible, but those ADMs are for custom orders…you’d have to find someone who would want your exact spec to get close to that, otherwise sticker might be possible.

Thanks for the feedback. They've been moving my freeze point around for months. I wonder if they will unfreeze it...ever heard of that? With the ship going down, and all htese shortages, it just made me think that they may do that.

Unfreeze is possible if there is a delay. It happens.

Sports cars benefit from stiff sway bars.
PDCC allows you to have stiff sway bars on demand without the comfort issues of having them full time. If this was a GT car, then it doesn’t matter and Porsche can just spec stiff bars with little care to comfort, plus the benefit of weight savings and less complexity.
The combination of PDCC/RAS/AWD on my TTS is like sorcery. It’s feels like a slot car when cornering, yet retains a comfortable ride.
Now I would not pass on an allocation because a car doesn’t have PDCC, but I think it’s a worthwhile technology for these cars.
Only subjective downside, if any, is that all these systems make the car feel almost mid-engine, but the trade off in performance is worth it IMO.

I suspect that PDCC is holding up my car. I went into production on 2/15 and was scheduled to come out on 2/28. Now that is pushed to 3/15. I thought that they didn't start you car if they didn't have all the parts ready to go, but maybe I went into the body shop and then got held up. Nobody seems to have any answers. But I am definitely starting to think it is PDCC and perhaps a related chip.
