Russia/Ukraine and Production Delays

Russia/Ukraine and Production Delays
**Let me start out by saying that this potential issue is insignificant in comparison to the current conflict in Ukraine and its toll on human lives/property**
Having said that, do we anticipate future production delays due to the sanctions being placed on Russia and the current state of affairs? Germany is Russia's largest consumer of natural gas and a disruption in the flow, I would assume, could have a negative impact on manufacturing. I am not well versed on the details, hoping someone might have more insight as to how this could shake out.

I would assume everything will be delayed because of the Russia/Ukraine conflict, war, invasion, etc. 911's, included.
Between Ukraine and Russia, I would imagine precious metals like copper and nickel would both be affected -- both of which are critical components to cars.
I would imagine the lithium ion batteries in the 911 with RWS will be affected (nickel), as would the 911 generally with the possible shortage of copper.

Russia mines a great bit of metals but I don't think sanctions will affect global market supplies to that extent where you won't get your precious 911 on time. Vast majority of 911 parts are sourced from Germany and other EU countries and the bit that Russia could offer in regards to raw material can easily (relatively) be sourced from other countries in the world. Oil will be the most affected commodity with oil prices already on the rise.

Sanctions. There will be no legal way for the Russians to pay for their Porsches. No banks will be allowed to process the transactions.

You can expect significant supply chain issues in the coming months. There isn’t much modern precedent for what’s on deck here. Energy disruptions and costs will certainly be significant.
Porsche will continue to operate normally as long as they can, but lots of wildcards here. If you were impatient and frustrated by the past 2 years, it’s not going to get better in the months ahead.
We almost certainly have a recession on deck fueled by consumer concerns and higher prices at the pump ($5-7/gal is a real possibility), even higher grocery prices due to energy costs, etc. Not like we needed that.
It’s not a bad time to install a charger at home and buy an EV as an additional car/daily driver. Someone asked me what they should do with their money right now and that was my answer.

Cryptocurrency exists to circumvent this kind of thing. Sanctions are a critical tool, because they deny market access, but money always finds a way to flow.

Porsche part of a publicly trade company. Their books are open by law. They can't hide payments. They can't fake exports.

That doesn't matter one bit. The cars still have to exported/imported, clear customs and then the payment for those cars has to get back to Porsche AG somehow. And all of that has to be publicly disclosed and traceable by German law.
There will be no Porsches delivered to Russia in the near future, zero.
