Default 992 quality control issues: when will they be resolved? Here is a compilation.

The problems I have seen reported for the 992 include the following:
*transmission leaks https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1213298-pdk-leak.html

*engine mount bulletin https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1266...es-thread.html

*a variety of squeaks and rattles https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1231...rattles-2.html
https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1181...d-noise-7.html
https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1247...or-rattle.html
https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1209...g-me-nuts.html

*saggy seat bottoms https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1178...t-bottoms.html

*bumper panel gaps https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1227...panel-gap.html
https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1238...gned-pics.html

*clicking noises https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1225...like-this.html

*drivetrain lash https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1257...in-992-c2.html

*crickets sound and low RPM resonance https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1266...arrera-4s.html

There are other issues, such as ACC stopping the vehicle in a vulnerable position in traffic, or night vision assist issues. I only focused on quality control issues that are not related to options.

This thread can be criticized for the following reasons:
*these problems are uncommon
*only the people who have problems report them, but people who don't don't have any reason to
*these are expected new model teething problems

To some degree all of the above are true. One need only look at 997.1 and 991.1 to know that in the first several years there are production issues that eventually get resolved.
While these are low percentages, I suspect cumulatively a fair number of owners are having issues and it's a bummer when they do.

That said, I openly accept these 992 issues as opposed to the issues you are buying into with a McLaren and to a lesser extent a Ferrari.

I have a 992 on order. Is it wishful thinking that by the time mine is delivered in a year or so that some or most of these problems will be resolved?
Does anyone have any other issues to add to the above list?

Not being critical of your post, but as a data point, my MY 2020 which was built in Feb 2020 has none of the above issues in (a very enjoyable) 15 months of driving.

My only problem was that it was scheduled for ED in early April & was cancelled at the last minute due to COVID, so I had a somewhat painful wait for delivery back to the dealer here in the US since all operations in Germany were shut down for a few weeks.

My comments mirror the ones above 100%. No issues whatsoever in my 14 months of extremely happy ownership. I will admit I had some concerns too due to the COVID-19 shutdown last year but that "seems" to have allowed Porsche to correct the Bose speaker rattle issue, engine mount as mine required neither. Just proves that content 992 owners tend to be more quiet and / or out driving it. Hopefully your mileage WON'T vary.

Every product has occasional issues, especially a mechanical one like an automobile, Therefore every product forum has a myriad of customer complaints. There is little value to aggregating every stated complaint because no one person ever incurs every issue. For example, if you go to the model specific forum for iPhones or Sony TVs or dash cams you'll also see a similar scattering of individual issue reports. Does that mean you should not get an iPhone or Sony TV?

If you want a quality automobile and prioritize a minimum of issues, your best bet is probably to buy a Lexus. They still have issues, but I believe overall they have statistically less issues. Stay away from German and especially low-volume products. Paying high $$$ does not mean higher quality or better electronics... In fact, often the reverse because of low-volume production.

My MY2021 992TTS (October 2020 production) has been essentially trouble-free with a few relatively minor, if annoying, exceptions:

-Seat back release strap breakage (PCNA/PAG are working on a fix for the release latch - supposedly to be released imminently)
-Porsche Connect - intermittent connectivity/reliability problems, including: RadioPlus - never works; Amazon Music - has limited functionality and sometimes just disappears
-Window switches - periodically lose “continuous action” functionality
-InnoDrive - periodically forgets speed setting and becomes non-functional until speed is reset
-Battery loses charge if vehicle is inactive
-Debris accumulates in gap in rear fender vents
-M (manual) switch light on console became inoperative

I appreciate the response Mike. I attempted to communicate in my post that I am unequivocally going forward with my 911 purchase eyes wide open, knowing that I will have far fewer issues with a 911 than with a McLaren and probably a Ferrari, in addition to being one of the greatest sports cars in history.
No need for a Lexus! For reliability and utility I have a Honda Pilot and for calm luxury, a W140 S class.
As above, I totally expect issues just as there were in the first several years with the 997 and 991...
The purpose of my post was to get opinions about the timeframe Porsche might resolve 992 issues, and whether anyone has knowledge of these issues being
addressed.

Thank you sharing those bullet points Peter, that is exactly the kind of information I am interested in.

Fingers crossed that I have the same experience you have had with your 911.

Cracked PDK shifter is another common problem.

Thanks, I forgot about that one, but fortunately relatively cheap.

High resale value.

Not sure when Porsche will resolve that one. Might be a while. Still waiting for an official TSB from US DOT.

plus - not a Porsche-specific issue, but annoying that DOT/NHTSA has not approved the rule change to enable full Matrix lighting functionality.

Could argue we are currently in a world of elevated demand simply outstripping also elevated supply....but prices tend to self-solve markets over time...

IIRC, Porsche 1H21 revenues are ~25% above 1H19 revenues; so clearly able to produce ~25% more units than in a robust period like 1H19 (pre-Covid supply chain excuses)

AAPL 2Q21 iPhone revenues were ~50% above 2Q20 revenues (a booming quarter for AAPL w/accelerated WFH, etc); AAPL is arguably world's biggest (and most profitable) buyer of semis, etc, well ahead of auto mfrs for any supplies

Need warranty/lemon buyback cost data from any auto mfr to really judge their quality/reliability levels vs past and/or vs competitors: obviously, auto mfrs hide such sensitive data in their financials, except really big charges like the Takata airbag recall which affected many mfrs, incl the mythically high-quality Japanese...

Anecdotally, know ~6 colleagues/friends who DD early-build 992TTS (incl self) and have had no quality/reliability issues

Didn’t see cracked door handles there. That also seems common.
