Could argue we are currently in a world of elevated demand simply outstripping also elevated supply....but prices tend to self-solve markets over time...
IIRC, Porsche 1H21 revenues are ~25% above 1H19 revenues; so clearly able to produce ~25% more units than in a robust period like 1H19 (pre-Covid supply chain excuses)
AAPL 2Q21 iPhone revenues were ~50% above 2Q20 revenues (a booming quarter for AAPL w/accelerated WFH, etc); AAPL is arguably world's biggest (and most profitable) buyer of semis, etc, well ahead of auto mfrs for any supplies
Need warranty/lemon buyback cost data from any auto mfr to really judge their quality/reliability levels vs past and/or vs competitors: obviously, auto mfrs hide such sensitive data in their financials, except really big charges like the Takata airbag recall which affected many mfrs, incl the mythically high-quality Japanese...
Anecdotally, know ~6 colleagues/friends who DD early-build 992TTS (incl self) and have had no quality/reliability issues

The problems I have seen reported for the 992 include the following:
*transmission leaks https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1213298-pdk-leak.html
*engine mount bulletin https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1266...es-thread.html
*a variety of squeaks and rattles https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1231...rattles-2.html
https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1181...d-noise-7.html
https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1247...or-rattle.html
https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1209...g-me-nuts.html
*saggy seat bottoms https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1178...t-bottoms.html
*bumper panel gaps https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1227...panel-gap.html
https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1238...gned-pics.html
*clicking noises https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1225...like-this.html
*drivetrain lash https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1257...in-992-c2.html
*crickets sound and low RPM resonance https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1266...arrera-4s.html
There are other issues, such as ACC stopping the vehicle in a vulnerable position in traffic, or night vision assist issues. I only focused on quality control issues that are not related to options.
This thread can be criticized for the following reasons:
*these problems are uncommon
*only the people who have problems report them, but people who don't don't have any reason to
*these are expected new model teething problems
To some degree all of the above are true. One need only look at 997.1 and 991.1 to know that in the first several years there are production issues that eventually get resolved.
While these are low percentages, I suspect cumulatively a fair number of owners are having issues and it's a bummer when they do.
That said, I openly accept these 992 issues as opposed to the issues you are buying into with a McLaren and to a lesser extent a Ferrari.
I have a 992 on order. Is it wishful thinking that by the time mine is delivered in a year or so that some or most of these problems will be resolved?
Does anyone have any other issues to add to the above list?

I do have a clicking noise on gravel roads below 35mph. Goes away once on asphalt.
The rest of my beefs are not quality related but, IMHO, extremely poor design
*PCM RT coding (do I need to wait for the Ambient Lighting module to finish loading while getting gassed in the garage waiting to open the frickin door??),
*removal of HomeLink buttons and buried in the PCM,
*lack of seat belt adjuster,
*inability to see the outer most gauges (if inconsequential as mentioned by some then why have them?; remove them),
*rear wiper doesn't include a washer,
*inability to remember settings (heated steering/seat) after engine shut-off,
*lack of thoracic support on 14 way seats,
*odometer reset bad design the previous one was obvious this one isn't,
*replace the Braun shaver by a shifter and allow shifting,
*sun visor too narrow,
*seat folding mechanism cumbersome and prone to breaking.
Just off the top of my head

I’ve got 23k miles on my June 2019 build. No issues. I have had all of the recalls and service bulletins addressed. People don’t spend a lot of time on RennList posting “My car is awesome. No issues”. These are trouble free cars.

The reports of seatback release strap breakage (and, in particular, the compilation and aggregation of those and related reports) was a significant factor in prompting PCNA&PAG to issue their seatback latch repair notice, according to my dealer.
Moreover, the compilation (or aggregation) of issues provides a very efficient method for owners to identify whether or not particular issues are unique to their own or common to other vehicles.

Ive had the seat lash issue and should get replacement soon. I have noticed that when the driver seat is pushed all the way back the seat belt buckle digs into the seat back and has caused some dings. Other than that alls well, so far.

fyi, the window continuous action function was lost when, after a heavy overnight dew, water from the roof dripped onto the driver’s side window switches when the driver’s side door was opened. the fault affected both sides’ windows and has, at times, been intermittent on one or both windows. at the moment, the driver side window continuous action function is not working, but the passenger side is working properly - at least for the time being.

I had the Bose speaker rattle on the passenger side door, dealer replaced the speaker, and the steering wheel creaking and the dealer replaced a part. Otherwise my June 2019 built 2020 S is tight, well-screwed and solid.

My 992 C2S was an early North America build (first week of April 2019). Delivery delayed due to emissions release - delivered in October 2019. Based upon service bulletins, the engine mounts and Bose door speakers were replaced and several software updates ( mostly PCM interface issues) were installed. Other that that, I have experienced none of the listed quality issues mentioned in this thread. The most frustrating was the PCM issues that became stable by spring of 2020. Based upon my experience, the 992 has been very reliable and now nearing the 2 years on road time.

Aug 19 Cab build. No issues worth mentioning, but only 5k miles. My main gripe is related to my mileage...I havent been in for a service as yet, and you need some kind of pro tool to reset the service reminder (there's no secret handshake like most cars), and the warning pops up at every start. On the OP post, I don't see any reason to expect a lot of effort to have the minor glitches fixed...they don't appear to be a significant reputation or sales problem.

2021 S Cab. Zero issues. No warranty items, either. All Porsches make funny little sounds - I've owned them since 1976. Lexus quiet they are not.

Excellent point, Peter. We know that Porsche (and other manufacturers) look at forums.
Discussing faults in a constructive tone can be a catalyst for change.
I was careful not to denigrate Porsche and to make clear that these normal issues certainly are not dissuading me from going through with my order or my feeling that I'm going to have one of the greatest sports cars in history.
The only other sports car I've had was a Ferrari 308 QV coupe.
The 992 is going to feel like I'm in a different galaxy.
Looking forward to driving one tomorrow at the PEC Carson.

A bit over 12k and none of those issues. Only issue I had was when I first picked up in Jan the PCM would reset at random times and nav would not load. Two iphone updates and one flash of the PCM and it seems to be gone.
