Anyone I’ve heard that own them love them and I do like the exclusivity. When people say not on the street I’m not sure what that means. If you drive bumper to bumper freeway driving then maybe I get it. But why can’t a GT3 in any form be driven on the street, a little harder ride sure but not bone jarring, high revving only if you want it too, I think it’s a special car. Of all the many 911 iterations that don’t make sense to me this one does as it’s actually different and not just a normal 911 loaded up with options.

I’m nearing the end of my work life so I only drive to places I want to and in a Touring would be just fine. Problem for me is I’m anti ADM and just could not get myself to write that check. So I’ll stick with my TTS.
Drive a GT car it will be hard to drive anything else, my first Porsche was 2012 Carrera S manual was fun/starter gateway drug. Since them 2 RS’s and and GT3, and now the Speedster manual which I will not trade. Many say that and ran for cash, and I think that’s a mistake because 500 HP manuals will be gone one day. The car is a gem to drive, and you will always be able to get turbos or hybrids/electric as it’s the future. Sold my RS not enough time to dedicate to the track, but the times I did it’s an insane car and it’s a lot to handle for many as the GT3.

You will find the touring great for drives and back roads, and the manual is the way to go. 500 HP is more than enough in this car.

Op - I don't "envy" anyone. I eat out of my own plate and dont look around to compare what others have then theirs . I would love a Gt3 but I feel its not really a practical daily driver and thats what I need .

Ok, of THIS I am jealous.

I’m not rich enough to be in this position

I feel like I love the idea of the GT3 and always want one, but that it wouldn’t get as much use as my C2S which I can daily and park anywhere. I love the naturally aspirated, high revving sound, the sharper driving dynamics, but not sure in the end it would be worth it because I would use the car much less. Likely a Turbo S would make a better case for a daily driver for me.

Im curious to see how stiff the new GT3 suspension is. My SPASM C2S in stiff damper mode is a tad bumpy but manageable over the relatively smooth Florida roads. If a GT3 rides similar to that then maybe it could work. If it’s stiffer then my wife wouldn’t want to ride in it.

The GT3 would be great if I didn’t need back seats for the times when my small kids want to join me on a spirited drive. The back seats are part of the charm for guys like me. I had a 991 GT3 and it was sublime and I only used it as a track and canyon toy because I couldn’t bring my kids.

My TTS does it all in comfort, which I’m sure is true of the other non GT 992 variants. It allows us to bring our families along and experience the joy of motoring. I can not do that with any of my other sports cars. I wish Porsche would offer back seats in the GT3 Touring as that would make for the perfect dad mobile.

Coming from 3 years in a GT3 Touring, I would not go back.
Happy I had the opportunity to build and drive one and have the Touring itch scratched.... but happier where I am now, in a Turbo S.
It better suites my sports car needs.

Hey riotgear,

Looks like you have quite the collection of cars. Are you exclusive Porsche or do you have others?

Would not even consider another 911 besides the GT3, unless it's a GT2 or Turbos S hard top. I don't get the point of a C2, much less in the flimsy and ugly cab version.

Not exclusive although I love Porsche. I have a Aventador SV and McLaren 765LT in the garage.

Don't assume this, just ask. I wouldn't pay ADM but still have a GT3T allocation for DD use (kids in college/HS so don't need back seats). That said, I am doing a GT3 vs. TTS back-to-back at the PEC Atlanta because I'm a bit torn...

No envy or lust for GT3. To be a 365-day-a-year DD where I live (which any 911 I own is expected to be), AWD beats RWD hands down. If I made a move out of the C4 it would be to a TT.

I only prefer GT3 or GT3RS in 911 range.

I like the idea of the GT3 (Touring) more than I would like to drive it all the time.
I would like a dedicated GT3 PDK for track. But that would be a waste of money at this time.

This is a great description on why I wouldn't want a GT3 for anything else than a dedicated track car:
