Thank you. The 812 is Verde Zeltweg and the Pista is Rosso TRS.

I have a C2S. Do I wish for a GT3 Touring or otherwise? Not in the least.

There are always faster or more exclusive cars out there. And I had access to them if I wanted. But to me, it is all about balance and alignment with my tastes, needs and wants. The C2S fills those criteria and I still smile every morning when I enter the garage. I'm lucky I guess because I don't suffer from inadequacy issues.

I race lawnmowers on the weekend so I don't really have the need for a new GT3.

Plus, I get back seats that fit our son and his cousins. So, I can share the fun.

Does the GT3 sound awesome when you’re high in the rev range? Damn straight. Do you get to leverage that rev range on the street regularly? Nope.

992 GT3 isn’t even particularly attractive. I think that it looks better with the wing — substantially lighter than the 992 Touring too, btw.
wing car is not substantially lighter than touring , I have wing and now drive touring, looks much better than 911S (to me personally) and on the streets you just have to keep rpm around 5000 and not 1500 like on base 911 . 3.0 L turbo Carreras can not compete with GT products. It’s like $9 wine compared with $100 wine , it’s it’s still a wine but different 😂

I guess everyone has different tastes: I find GT3s tiring on a daily basis - too firm, too little torque, LWBs are a PITA IMHO. OTOH for canyon carving or the track I'll take the GT3 all day. The correct answer is 'have both', lol.

i like the idea of a gt3 touring. but i live at 8,000' and regularly hit mountain passes at 10,000'. so being down (8*3) 24%-30% on horespower isn't that appealing.plus you have to rev the car out to get the noise.

I have a GTS, but I'd take a GT3 Touring in a heartbeat.

100%. After moving from a 991 Carrera T -> 911 50th Anniversary -> 991.2 GT3 to finally get that "must have" car I dreamed about, I think it is both a step too far for me because I significantly value being able to use a 911 as "just a car" AND the best, most emotive car I have ever experienced and probably will ever experience. I can't let it go. I have tried as hard as possible to reject the whole "just have both a Carrera and a GT3" as the correct answer, but here I sit looking at CPO Carreras to pair with my GT3 and replace my Macan. The Macan is the Porsche of small SUVs and excels in that role, but I have come to realize I am simply not an SUV guy and life is too short to drive stuff you are not enthusiastic about.

I don't wish for one. If I wished for a model different than my T it would be a Targa. I'm happy with my T though.

I agree everyone has different tastes.

I traded my 992 GTS for a 992 GT3 and I daily drove/drive both. The GT3 is not materially firmer than the GTS. I was worried about this after all of the people talking about it but it's not really a thing. Maybe if yor tire pressure is messed up but, otherwise, it is not that much firmer. The GT3 does not feel like it lacks and torque and, in fact, feels faster than the GTS. Especially so on the highway but even from a dead stop. I attribute this to it weighing notably less. The LWBS are absolutely more of a PITA but not a problem at all (and you can spec the GT3 without them). The only real downside in my experience comparing the two with the GT3 is it is notably louder in the cabin on the highway (tire noise mostly) when you are just cruising. When you want to play around a bit, the extra noise (and the 100% better quality of the noise) is so worth it.

I'm not even sure the correct answer is both for me. If I don't want to drive the GT3 (rarely if ever) then I wouldn't want to drive my GTS either (and I'll take my truck). Put another way, if I had a GTS/CS and a GT3, the GTS/CS would likely get very little, if any, mileage. It would be 70% GT3, 25% truck (out of necessity), 5% GTS.

I own a Carrera T and have owned multiple GT3's. I prefer the former for the road, the latter for the track. People can say what they like, but I don't think the GT cars make as much sense for road driving.

Note: This is an old thread that was bumped today by someone who was apparently banned immediately thereafter. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah, sure, but in this case, it's $100 wine that's coming out of the exact same barrel as the $9 wine.😜

Neat thread...

If the GT3 was able to be optioned with a sunroof I'd be all over it for both daily driver and track use. There's a guy here in Canada who's driven his 930 turbo (Bill MacEachern) for over 1 million kilometers...I aspire to drive my 2024 Carrera T just as much. Its my daily and everything with Glass Sunroof and Aerokit. Life's short.

I was hell bent on buying a GT3 until I drove one locally on our roads and that changed my mind - the GT3 is such an amazing beast, if you're tracking it regularly and have nicer smooth roads absolutely, but our local rough crummy roads make it just a tad boring to drive, you won't be spending any time at all in that amazing 8000+ RPM sweet spot.

For my use case, the T is a better fit but I wouldn't be against adding one in addition to my T at some point.
