Default Thoughts on buying 992 C2S w/o Sport Chrono at good (?) price

Today I was offered an opportunity to buy a low mileage 2020 C2S for $129k w/o Sport Chrono but a decent amount of other options like ACC, LKA, Premium Pkg, Comfort Access, Leather, Ventilated Seats. Ideally I would have liked to have SC, ACC, LCA, Sport Exhaust, and comfort access but $129k seems like a good price to me. If $129k really is a good deal, should I snap it up knowing it's missing Sport Chrono? I've never owned a 911 before so this would be my first one and I haven't had the opportunity to drive a 911 with SC so I'm not sure if I would have buyer's remorse later.

Thanks in advance for your help all!

What's low mileage? What was the MSRP?

All else being equal, I would wait for a car with Sports Chrono.

Wait for one with Sport Chrono.. It doesn't seem to me that $129K is such a great deal, without this, what I'd call a "Must Have" option. At this price point I want a car "exactly" the way I want it. No excuses work for me at this level.

If you want to know the original MSRP on the car as well as the options go here and type ion the Vin number .https://vinanalytics.com/

As for sport chrono I feel its a must have option even you rarely use it . The sport response button is golden for hard passing . Even more importantly PDK is one of Porsche's most sophisticated components . The lack of SC basically makes the system incomplete . I need to have the compete package .

129K is a lot of money to be questioning anything missing. It never goes away if you buy it .

Thanks yrralis1 for the referral to the website, the MSRP was $122,590.

I appreciate all of your comments and thoughts, this is really helpful! Seems like nobody regrets getting Sports Chrono. That being said, I'm starting to think maybe the right way to go is to just build it and order it.

IMHO, Sport Chrono is one of the few must have options

So asking above msrp for a used car that doesn’t have the features you or at least 90% of people might want. It’s a bad deal all around. Worth 110k at best. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the reply @Captain P . In this current high-demand environment, is it fair to say a "good deal" is a combination of finding the 911 with the desired trim and options and is listed below the MSRP (assume the 911 is used)?

I would just build a new one. Used cars are severely overpriced right now - you’re just paying more for the privilege of not waiting. Find an allocation at MSRP and build new. It’ll take 6-12 months but totally worth it as you get to specify exactly what you want.

I'm afraid I have a different take than most of the prior posts. I say bargain with them and try to get the damn car!!!

I'm like you, a first-time 911 owner. Mine is well-equipped but doesn't have Sport Chrono. And you know what, I could care less! The car is fantastic and fantastically fun to drive. I put it in Sport Mode, lower the chassis, flick the Manual switch and go!! Soooooo much fun to drive!!

It is very rare in life to have a major event or purchase exceed expectations and even more so to have one VASTLY exceed expectations and yet that is the case with my new 911. I'd always been a little skeptical about the mystique, the engineering, etc. and boy was I wrong. The car is everything it's cracked up to be and more.

Moreover, given the paucity of available 911s and the orders stacking up, you are in for a pretty long wait before you even get an allocation (much less the actual car) and you aren't likely to see another car in that price range. The supply issue obviously cuts both ways--meaning you may not be able to get them down much--but I say go hard and try to get it.

You will not regret it for an instant.

So again, I would bargain and try to get the car.

The key word is “bargain”. Maybe OP will have better luck than most but good luck negotiating a discount right now.

Exactly. No wants can go missed at this price point.

even if it means an extra 15 or 20k, I'm getting exactly what I want.

I must disagree with this.

My mantra is never buy the deal, always buy the car.

If you do the former, you'll never really enjoy the car. If you do the latter, you'll never regret the money you spent.
