Wait, what? That is exactly NOT what I am proposing. I am saying BUY THE DAMN CAR!! I'm not at all suggesting that he "buy the deal"--instead, I am suggesting that, given the current state of supply (meaning great lack thereof), the OP might, emphasis on might, want to actually try to get a car he can enjoy now rather than waiting for many, many months. I know there are a lot of Sport Chrono snobs on this board, but the 911 is still a fantastic car even without it, especially since--and here's the key point--he can actually drive it now!
Buying this car (one without Sports Chrono) is settling, and essentially buying the deal, and not the car.

911s are great both with and without sports chrono. This board makes you think you are buying a prius if you don’t get sports chrono.
I have one without and don’t even think about it. It is plenty fast and engaging in sports mode and I also use normal mode frequently when driving to work. Shocking I know.

And honestly, there probably are few, if any, options on a 911 that are must-haves for everyone across the board.
That said, because the OP said himself that he wants the Sports Chrono, then by definition it is a must-have for the OP.

Sorry, but the OP doesn’t know if he wants it or not—that’s what his post says. Never driven one with it etc. If it was a must have he wouldn’t have asked the question.
So the point is that some of us think, yeah, you can def do without it and still have a great car.

My 997 didn't have sports chrono, I never missed it. My 992 has it and I would never buy a car without it again. The convenience of the steering wheel dial is just too good, regardless of the other things that come with it.

- Rotary selection **** for drive modes
- Sport Plus and Individual Drive Modes
- Sport Response button for full attack mode (great for passing)
- Launch Control (sport chrono is the only way to get it)
- Dynamic engine mounts that enable these modes
- Chronograph on the dash for lap timing, integrated to the PCM and dashboard
Aside from the last item, all of the above are extremely nice to have for a 911 driven on the street. A 911 without these features is a lesser car.

Interesting discussion. I’m specing my base 992 order and I am totally on the fence about sport chrono and sport exhaust. I’m sure I would like them at times, just not sure I would use them enough to justify the costs. I’ll never track the car.

It's still a great sentence but it is not complete .
Sport plus does map PDK to its full capacity .

In the ‘Good To know’ app and owners manual, I can’t find anything about this Sport Response Button.
