That's not the shaver though - that's the aluminum replacement option? (Though I have no problems with the Shaver at all... it's just a drive selector)

I have no (as in zero) issues with the standard shifter... complete non-story.

It serves its purpose, over reaction people. I have no issues with it as well, takes up less space which I prefer.

I’m still waiting for Porsche and Braun to team up and offer the special edition Braun 911 with an actual removable Braun razor as a shifter. So, you know, a gent can give himself a little touch up on the way home from the office or a lady can smooth out her legs on her way to meet her girlfriend for a night on the town.

Agreed. The GT3 PDK gear selector/shifter does have something of a poseur factor to it -- it's trying to hard to look like the manual. Plus, it's one more thing for you to get impaled upon in a crash.

I miss my Hurst T handle, the shaver is a joke. Why not a set of push buttons (embeded in the PCM so we can wait 90 seconds to use it at start up and reflect on the day...) for gear selection like in the 1950s Chrysler? And since now the entire console has had ALL it's buttons just about removed (see 991 for comparison) why not just remove the entire console and save another ounce or two? At some point (see HomeLink for example) change for change is just plain wrong. But whoa, criticizing Porsche... major heresy no doubt.

I'm +3 on the GT3 PDK shifter sorry Bumping gears up and down on center console is >= steering wheel paddles, having both options is best.
