Default Over optioned GTS?

Hi all,

Any thoughts on this GTS build? e.g. I feel the need to add yellow interior elements to better complement the PCCBs…but wondering if it’s a bit OTT?

Appreciate your feedback!

I think it’s cool. It’s heavily optioned, but nothing crazy in this build. I’m sure you’ll love it.

I don't think its over optioned, just some big ticket items in the build. Personally I think yellow is a color that can easily get overdone. You could add some stitching but definitely not yellow trim inlays. I have the ionizer and find it to be completely worthless. Some will say the door guards in CF is a bit much given you rarely see them but I think they look really cool at night. To me its hard to spot the difference between the black headlights and the standard ones.

Spitting distance from a 911 Turbo… Personally I’d go with a Turbo or remove some options on the GTS.

I had a similar build in Dolomite (Gt was in the running) but chose the red GTS package sans ceramic . When I went to potential ceramic I chose the chalk interior package . Colors are very personal taste . I have seen a lot of guys try and match PCCB's with yellow interior packages and it never swayed me . I dont feel the interior is caliper dependent yet if I did I might try this . Its understated and elegant .http://www.porsche-code.com/PNE6Y8K6

It is a nice build with equipment optioning similar to my upcoming C4S (RAS, FAL, Burm, etc.). If you are OK with the price and plan to hold onto the car for a few years go for it! You will appreciate all of the little details you paid attention to in your spec every time you drive it / wash it / gaze at it lovingly across a parking lot.

I'd recommend dropping the front paint protection film from the factory and have it done locally where you can be sure of the installer's work quality and have access to them should there be anything you aren't happy with about the install.

Yellow stitching would be fun. I have a very similar interior :-)

Problem is -- once you add these same options on a Turbo....you are within spitting distance of a Turbo S. And so it goes. The next thing you know, your 190k car has turned into a $240k car.

That said, it's a valid point -- you can build a nicely equipped Turbo for $190k, but it really depends on how much you like having all these extra options.

Similarity equipped turbo is $209 vs.$181 so the are not that close. I can’t seem to build a GTS for less than $180 personally and think it is a good build with the color accents.

First question
Where are you located? You optioned headlights won't work in the USA and will be kneecapped to work just like the ones you don't pay extra for.
Next up.. comments..
People here have complained about the Sport Chrono Stopwatch in white and yellow - reflection on the window issues I think?
The extended range fuel tank and PCCB would be for track use normally - that's the plan right?

The Front Axle Lift (FAL) is also location dependent. Where I live (Chicago area) it seems it would be a waste. I recently drove around San Diego and wow - not sure how you would live without lt there.
As noted, have the the PPF put on by a local pro.

This. You can go on and on. If you can get a GTS allocation, don't pass it up. GTS has much better value retention vs the TT/TTS. Personally, I've never understood the assumption of hierarchy across the 911 range. I don't look at it as "good, better, best...". Have to consider the real world use case and which car is going to give you the highest sense of satisfaction to live with. I find that the turbo cars are just too powerful to really enjoy on public roads in real world conditions. Also prefer the clean lines and classic body shape of the Carrera cars. In the context of 911's, 180k vs 210k may not seem significant but remember that you can buy a nice "regular" car for that cash.

Well you have to show some restraint unless money is not a factor. I’ll happily pay for the performance increase in the base turbo over options that offer very little value on a GTS. E.g. Porsche installed PPF and any of the active cruise/lane options. I’d have an independent shop install the paint protection film so they can adjust it if need be. I have the lane assist and ACC options on my car and don’t use them. To each their own.

I agree. My TTS is $240k, but was very particular with options and have zero driver aids/nannies on the build. I’d rather have a higher performance car with less options than the other way around.

At $240k you start to wonder if you should get a GT3 touring 🤪
