Or a Taycan!

I've had one as a loaner for a week with my 991 TTS in for some warranty service. I'm not sure I'm the demographic Porsche had in mind, but the Taycan is unbelievably smooth riding, flat turning, and QUIET! At least f you turn off the somewhat ridiculous PESS "Porsche Electric Sport Sound". You feel and hear so little when driving it, it is kind of like being in a simulator instead real car.

When people talk about loving certain versions of 911 or other cars because they feel 'visceral' and 'connected', the Taycan is quite simply the antithesis of that!. Not saying it is good or bad, just not really for me...

Miami doesn’t have the twisty roads AFAIK. Plus that humidity and “Florida Man”.

Back to the OP's post, can't go wrong if that is what you want. I see one thing you did not spec that I did - 930 Leather Package. To me the 992 with this option reminds me of the interior of my first 911, an 1984 Carrera (also like the new hood with the folds instead of the smooth and rounded front edges of the 991 of which I owned two). I like how the additional quilting on the door panels and seats break up the smoothness of standard leather layout. I didn't go with nearly as many "driver aids" but I have no business dising anyone's build. Here's my build code for comparison - I'll be getting one of the first to hit the US and may get it before the end of 2021: PN6G9WX9

The 930 leather package is great looking and really finishes off the interior nicely. I think the quilting on the doors is the best part as without it the center piece on the door looks just a bit to bare. I spec'd it on mine.

Just got rid of my 2020 M850iX and got in line for a GTS! Looking back, I should never traded my 2017 C4S on the BMW except that my wife is all in on getting exactly what I want in hopes I’ll keep it for a while.

Nice. Care to share your spec?

Just curious to see it given your C4S and 850iX experiences.

I was thinking of leasing the GTS.

I had my two local dealers price out a loaded $185K GTS and a lightly optioned $199K Turbo. Despite the $14K difference, the GTS is $200 per month more than the Turbo.

Surprising…and I probably won’t be leasing it.

Porsche leases are awful . Here's an example ... in 2007 a friend of mine leased a 997 Turbo and I bought a nearly identical one . The only difference was his was white and mine was black . His payments were 2500 a month . I paid cash and bought it outright for 135K. (amazing how price evolved) . Three years later he had receipts . 14 years later I still have the car , I never sold it !!!!! I see they are asking about 80K for them used now. That's not too bad for 14 years .

Happy new year, All!

Any thoughts on this updated build? http://www.porsche-code.com/PN37GC43

My lock date is two weeks away.

Wondering most about skipping the interior GTS package or deviated stitching and the suspension setup.

This review pointed out how harsh the ride is with the helper springs setup, so I’ve optioned them out.

Great looking car. I have a GTS 4 allocation as well and have been on the configuration a lot lately. The ones I am building have been hitting around $162k. I think it just depends on what you need/want. The premium package, sunroof, under door lights, PDCC, power steering plus, FAL, LED lights, illuminated lateral gills, lightweight glass, ionizer, race tex roof lining, race tex visors, illuminated door sills, painted keys, are things I am not doing. Nice stuff but personally not worth it to me and might be hard to get back if you sell it/trade it. I have done a couple 'big builds' with 991s and a GT4 in the past and checked a lot of boxes. My GT3T has been the only keeper car out of all of those. If it is a car you plan on keeping a long time, then definitely get everything you want. If you plan to trade it back into the dealer in a year or two, it might be worth evaluating the need/want on several of the items. Good luck with the decision and congrats on the allocation!

Ionizer might not be worth it unless you live in a smog area. Recommend you delete the PPF and have the work done locally. GTS already has Turbo Brakes, going PCCB is a nice upgrade for C2S, less so for GTS, but they do offer lower unsprung weight and much less dust. Most track players opt for steel, not because they're better than carbon ceramic, but rather the maintenance costs are much more reasonable when replacement time comes.

There was another thread about the ionizer a few weeks back; some fellow from the air cleaning industry participated, dropped a bunch of science, and made it clear that the ionizer is a no brainer option, regardless of where you live, esp given it's so cheap.

The ionizer cost peanuts. No brainer.

Given all the smoke from forest/grass fires in the West, I wonder if will help?

I'd ditch the $160 useless puddle lights. Those are on the bottom of the doors which don't illuminate until you open the door. I believe there's lights under the sideview mirrors that illuminate your path.
