Why would you want to do this?

Rev the engine? For my auditory pleasure.

I didn't install sports cats so that I can hold hands with Cinderella, that's for sure....

Well, it sounds much better at full throttle.

That said, you can pull both paddles (putting the car in neutral) which would let you rev out the engine beyond the rev limiter.

Just remember to let off the gas before letting go of the paddles ...

There is a reason rev limiters exist.....and why manual 992's are limited to 3500rpm in neutral.

yeah, free revving an engine to 5k plus is not a good idea and I would greatly limit any attempts to do so.

Why?

And why do I always have to do things that are "good ideas"?

Buying a 992 wasn't a good idea either. I could've dropped that money into another blended mutual fund, I guess.....

Really? These are 911s. THE quintessential Porsche. Once warmed up to operating temps, they can easily be revved to 5K RPM and even redline repeatedly in gear or in neutral without any harm at all to the engine.

yes....reason why it’s hard to get good exhaust clips cause car has hard stop around 3k was told when stationary in park. Maybe even neutral too...heard it remarked in a YouTube review also as to a negative on the car in their review along with the particulte Filters also on the exhausts...too tame and quiet.

Thus another justification for my Akrapovic purchase also shorty after placing my order for my car! Will do cats after a while and getting to enjoy it and new Akra sound at some point likely.

But the Akrpovic exhaust doesn't change the stationary rev limiter, does it? This is the firs I'm hearing of the rev limiter when the car is in neutral. I remember my 2006 911 C2S cab also having some software in it that would not allow for left foot braking while on the accelerator. It would automatically remove the throttle input. Is this still the case as well?
