yes....reason why it’s hard to get good exhaust clips cause car has hard stop around 3k was told when stationary in park. Maybe even neutral too...heard it remarked in a YouTube review also as to a negative on the car in their review along with the particulte Filters also on the exhausts...too tame and quiet.
Thus another justification for my Akrapovic purchase also shorty after placing my order for my car! Will do cats after a while and getting to enjoy it and new Akra sound at some point likely.

But the Akrpovic exhaust doesn't change the stationary rev limiter, does it? This is the firs I'm hearing of the rev limiter when the car is in neutral. I remember my 2006 911 C2S cab also having some software in it that would not allow for left foot braking while on the accelerator. It would automatically remove the throttle input. Is this still the case as well?

Good luck. Was already covered: https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1187...l#post16503375
It's not just a park/idle rev limit, it's a no-load limit.

Really not a good idea to rev an unloaded engine like that.

But hey, you're a forum vet so you must know what you're doing. Keep that 911 purring at 4900 RPM or less.

Most manual cars don't have a neutral rev limiter. In fact, the 911 is the only manual car I can think of with this limitation. Point is, it's a sports car that's designed to be driven hard and 5K RPM is by no means high at all.

Porsche PDK use to let you rev it in netural and clutch bomb it into 1st. (no I didn't do this, but a buddy in a 991 TTS did)
They also use to let you "kickdown" PDK too. Where you floor it and pull back once and it will drop many gears to sling shot you away (this worked in my 17 991.2 S, but not my 19 991.2 GTS).
Then they took away our PDK shifter. (nub)
And now you cant rev it in neutral.
Why do they keep taking options away from us???

If you at a stop light, free revving your car to max rpm so you can get a boner and impress those around you, you are 16 years old.
If you want to free rev to hear exhaust note, get a GoPro or some other recording device, the car under load sounds completely different.

Sigh. We are talking unloaded here. When under load i fully agree that all revs are fair game. When in neutral, unloaded free revving is not great for the motor. Sure for a split second or doing it a few times wont matter, just not something id make a habit of. That said, at the ripe old age of 37, i have zero need to free rev a car.
