Default Rev Limiter

Is there a way to rev the engine higher than 5k? I can redline my Macan GTS but the C4S won’t let me go above 5k.

I tried doing the double paddle neutral, full neutral, and park.

Am I going to have to wait until Cobb comes out with a tuner or something?

Ok, I'll bite. Why would you need to rev the engine past 5k while in Neutral or Park?

Oh I have absolutely no need, I was trying to do it while rolling with the double paddle neutral and noticed it capped at 5k. So I was curious and tested it in the other settings. I just wanted to hear the exhaust.

My 13 year old BMW restricts revs when there is no load. Happy Porsche does it too.

The M4 Competition I recently traded in didn't seem to restrict it. I used to enjoy putting that car in maximum burble mode, shifting into neutral and revving the engine whenever I would drive past my friend's house who lived around the corner. And when I say whenever I would drive past his house, I mean it. I did this every single time I drove past his house to irritate him.

I loved revving my M4 Comp to 7k RPM's in neutral, not sure why people hate on the m4 exhaust, it sounded great to me!

The life I want to live, I’m not asking much! I just want to be able to make noise when ever I feel like it 🤣

Not near the car, nor do I remember. Can someone chime in what the 992 -S's rev limiter is(not at idle)?

My 981 GT4 monitors over-revs and this can be checked during a pre-purchase inspection. I figure my 992 does too. I would not buy a used 911 that was repeatedly bounced off the rev limiter. I love the sound of a flat six, especially when accelerating to 7,000 rpm, but have no desire to do so sitting still or in neutral.
