992 Carrera T Club
Congrats! Surprised you didnt make the driver over to the dealership today like most others in this thread have lol. Cant wait to see the pics tomorrow! Where will the first drive be?? You guys having decent weather over there in NY? Little bit of rain here in Boston, but looking good after tomorrow, hope you get a nice spring to enjoy the hell out of it
yeah my car was started production back in early feb with original eta around mid march. Some slight delays in Germany, production completed 3/6 and it got on a boat 3/13. The real stuff started once it arrived in Davisville 3/29, eta was showing 4/3 at that time but then you know the rest.
Not sure ultimately if I want to know what delayed the car, hoping it wasnt body damage or anything of that nature.

They do not tell you about paint work done at the port. The Port is considered part of the factory. And their body shop is second to none, so it's the same quality work that is done when a car gets damaged during the build process at the factory. Both are rare, but it happens.
That reminds me...
WARNING ALL NEW T-OWNERS!!!!
Be sure to check all of your glass very closely for small cracks before taking delivery, especially the side rear quarter windows. My SA told me they found a very small crack near the rubber edge of that window in a GT3 and had to order a new one (for $2,200!). They delivered the car and will replace the glass when the new one comes in. But I wanted to pass that info along.

no black, but I did get the painted front lip and there was some talk that it can be a source of delay since it is painted to match separate from the body. Not sure what items could cause delay at the local port which is why I am thinking either damage or something was missing.
What options have you selected, I suspect a missing part

Great review and nice to see you enjoying the car. Agree with most of your points. Just a brilliant car and drivetrain.
- Does the diamond button light up in your car?
- And did you find a way for the Apple Carplay to be in the menu on the left?
- And did you find a way of adjusting the display of the “simple display” version?
About the RAS: you are not supposed to notice anything. You should be able to feel it at around 50-60km/h changing the direction of the tires.
Burmester is pretty expensive for what it offers but it should be good at least.
And finally about the Matrix it usually doesn’t work much better unless it’s completely dark. Hardly to find a spot like that in the Netherlands.

- Carplay - I haven't been that deep in the menus yet (got the car Saturday, was busy the whole Sunday and Monday morning i drove the car to get the PPF).
- "simple display" - do you mean the one behind the wheel or the one inside the bigger one, on the right? At BMW I would simply remove the second window in the bigger display. The one behind the steering wheel, I like to keep it (at this moment) standard (oil pressure and temp, etc).
RAS - that's what I meant to say - at any speeds, its work is seamless. "No feeling" yet of it working. But again, it was wet, I didn't want to approach the limits and I am still pretty cautious (my CS usually will try to bite your head off, without warning, in the wet).
Burmester - I guess I need higher quality source and some time to play with the settings.
LED Matrix - it was dark enough. The BMW "paints" a more "continuous"/consistent and constant light wall. But, it was a first experience.
In wet mode, you get the automatic rev match, which even when downshifting from 3rd into 2nd, while approaching a roundabout, makes it sound like you are racing the car. Got a few heads turned this way.

Has anyone have "PPF" installed over the side decals? How is it holding?
Same with the rear wheel arches protection, put on top of the PPF.

I’m American, but traveled for work to Shanghai, Suzhou, etc. You definitely have some good driving roads there.
I’ve heard more PDKs exist outside of U.S. Curious, why can’t you get manual in China? The Japanese people I met in Tokyo and Osaka are manual freaks! Even the taxis are MT….

unfortunately no one could tell me the real reason why there is no MT version. But Porsche dont offer any manual cars in China.
I guess the Market here is different and most Chinese consider only cheap cars should have MT and Porsche consider its to much effort to get the MT certified for China Market.
Many other models are even not for sale here, for 992 generation there is no GTS or GT3 in China. Even no Turbo, just the Turbo S.

But the Core business is manufacturing of brushless electric Motors and Products which needs them, and to stay a little bit on topic we produce a lot of Direct Drive wheelbases for the No1 Racing Simulator Brand and last but not least we also do Motors, machined parts and battery components for a company which is written on the backside of our T

I had GT Silver on my 991.2 T, good color but I want something a bit different. I would have gone with Aventurine Green in a second as I really wanted a green, but can't justify $13k. And I would have gone for Lava orange if they didn't take that away too. I don't like Gentian, too dark - my current car is black and I want a light color again. I think with the rarity of the T and the reverence for rarer "skittles" colors on 911's, it's hard to go wrong. I want to like the Ruby Star but it's just too wild. Why couldn't you just give us a green Porsche in the non-PTS color pallet!?
Chalk is nice, but a bit boring and hard to justify spending the extra cash on Carmine or Ice gray when they are so close to the free colors.

My GT Silver T will be the ONLY 992T in Buffalo I suspect.

Agree, way too many GT Silver Porsches around here. Not to mention the endless number of white and gray Teslas. Just a speculation but I suspect Porsche buyers tend to be older and more understated. My dealer says the only two Shark Blue he sold were under 40 buyers. I'm lucky where I live I have been able to see a lot of the colors over time and agree Aventurine Green would be my favorite too if available. Gentian is very popular among Macan and it's very dark and purple there too. I have a white GT3 and I find it so boring.
