Gentian looks great, as does the Sport design front fascia. 👌🏻

Noticing that a lot of T buyers are getting the SD front fascia. I ordered it too. Seems way more than the rate for the base or S.

I am getting the sport design package, which comes with both front and rear. I didn’t want just the front as it feels incomplete. I’m not sure on the base and S take rates, but that’s interesting if true.

My car has been at Emden since March 21. Not sure when it will get loaded on a ship hearing how many cars are backed up. Hopefully it won't be too long though.

I don't mean to question the money and time spent on paint correction and protective films, but I've never done this and have always enjoyed my cars anyway. In fact, the only paint "issues" I've had were on the two cars I bought used with protective films and the film started peeling at the edges. I mean this with all sincerity, but what's motivating folks to do this? It seems like everyone with a new T is doing it. I was just going to pick mine up and drive it. Am I missing something?

Once you see bad paint, you can’t “unsee” it. It’s a curse (hence why I always have a paint correction performed on a new car). I also wash my cars, so ceramic makes that process more enjoyable. On PPF - there is just so much gravel on the roads, if you plan to do some spirited driving, chips are inevitable - they bother me just like swirls in paint. I’m also a member of a local track, and plan to take the T there semi-frequently. The extra piece of mind that comes with PPF is worth it for me.

I’m definitely with you though - the whole process is a little out there…

Pick it up and drive it! You aren’t missing anything.

@renn.tp I hear you, but this is supposed to be a driver's car and it feels like we're babying it a bit. Maybe I'm just from a different generation, but I still don't get it.

It's like insurance. Protect it and you can enjoy it without care. I ordered black and this car is exclusively for roadtrips and weekend canyon blasts. I don't want to worry about carwashes or rock chips or sandblasting.

Pretty sure you can PPF a car and still drive/enjoy the heck out of it. Lol

For T buyers who have not locked in yet, are you still moving forward despite the price increase?

There are several - as in quite a few - threads on this going back some years. It's a personal thing, like AWD vs. 2WD, MT vs. PDK, Rear steer yes / no, that sort of thing. Plenty of existing owners don't have it with no issues, the paint on these cars is tough enough for most conditions (yes, personal view but what the heck, after 15,000 miles my car has maybe 2-3 chips on it which is acceptable to me).

I've decided to wait and see what 992.2 brings. I like the front fascia better and if I'm spending another 10%, then I'll wait. I don't mind if the T is not made for 992.2 and I have to jump to an S.

Yes, still going forward if I get an allocation. Personally, I like having an analog rev counter and who knows what price increase will happen with the .2. But...if no allocation comes by around Jan of next year, ok fine I will wait for the .2
