I more wonder why I have 400 lb weights that bolt into each rear wheel on my tractor....when my neighbor walked over and told me I could have just filled the tires with beet juice....mind blown.

Sorry to sidetrack to tractors…..but Porsche did start out building tractors. I believe they even made a single cylinder diesel. Many still running today.

I'm blowing snow with mine...so it's purely traction.

I am not sure if this is a CH only feature but I downloaded My Porsche app where I follow the production of my 911.

We have the My Porsche app as well in the USA... its just not as user friendly or descriptive as the actual website is for us. It shows the current "stage" the car is in, and it gives a high level overview of the journey but does not show the "days until milestone" like the website does... most people tend to just go on the computer instead of the app.

The my porsche app seems to just link to the TYD page in a browser when I tried it yesterday. Still had the same errors as the web page. Even tried incognito mode and had the same issues.

I didn’t appreciate any difference between the app and the site so far (phase 1 of 2). Maybe it will differ in Phase 2..Logging in every second hour lol

You guys with more 911/p-car experience than I, what do you think about adding race-tex to the standard interior? I was thinking of personalizing the build with the race-tex roof, visors, and wheel/shift pieces, but I was curious if it's going to fail to look/feel like an integral or well-executed part of the interior design when it doesnt show up on the seats or elsewhere.

This is the only real difference I see... The app provides the journey (without "Days until milestone")... Website shows the actual days until that step will be reached... When I go on the app and click on the tab that says "show details" it provides the same description, but without the days away.

Oh wow, I don’t see any milestones in my 2 Phases process in both the website and the app.
Maybe it’s still too early or maybe we have a very basic service here in Switzerland (we didn’t have this service 5 ago). Time will tell 😊

1.) Cayenne GTS Full Race-tex interior: My current Daily has race-tex/alcantara over the entire car (Seats, pillars, headliner etc.) I love the feel of it and as long as you keep a suede brush in your door pocket and use it every once in a while, the seats have held up beautifully!! Headliner is awesome and gives a big heavy SUV a really nice sporty feel
2.) Cayman S: My cayman had the full sand/beige leather interior and the Beige alcantara headliner.... In a light color, I personally did not like the look of this with a full leather interior... I think the race-tex really works on the headliner when it is in the standard grey/black
3.) 991 generation: My 911 from this generation was mostly leather (black) with the race-tex headliner... I loved this combo, and always wished that my wheel and shifter matched my roof because I prefer the look of race-tex on a sports car... Leather if you want it to be more of a GT car feeling (which isn't personally why I buy a 911)
4.) 992 C2: My most recent 992 gen was the standard leather interior with ZERO Race-tex... Well, to be honest, the interior on this car was great but just plain boring...
5.) Incoming T... I wish I could have gone with more race-tex than I did, but Ive decided to option the Wheel, Shift **** and boot, and center arm rest in the Race-tex, with the sport tex seat centers and the standard interior on the rest...
The only car that I have ever felt didnt look right when the leather and race tex were mismatched was the cayman because of the "lighter" color of the materials. When its black on black, I think they all go together beautifully and would not hesitate to combine them.
Just be aware that you need to brush the race-tex with a suede comb and you should try to use a SONAX type of alcantara cleaner on it every few weeks so you can preserve the great texture and color... stops it from getting matted down
**I do prefer to wear gloves on track days with it... and normal driving I will sometimes wear driving gloves with it too, but as long as you clean it regularly, there is no need to use the gloves
