Any recommendations for where to buy/install the Akrapovic cat back system in the Mid-Atlantic?

Any high end mechanic can do this install. It is very easy and straight forward.
Many on this site consider it heresy to alter the ECU, but if you install the Akropovic Exhaust, you will need to have the ECU modified.
I decided to have the AMR ECU upgrade. The improvement in performance of my 2020 C4S is remarkable. The chances of damage to your engine
are minimal. Anyway, you only live once ( or if you're James Bond, you only live twice...once for yourself and once for your dreams)

Akropoivic above, standard below

No, you don’t have to have your ECU modified. I have the Akrapovic, BMC filters and Soul cats with no ECU modifications and no CELs. Works just fine.

Akrapovic’s website says that you only need to modify the ECU if you replace the Cats

AMR's description above calls the C4S a "commuter car", so they're off my list, LOL.

True, since Akrapovic doesn’t sell cats, they sell straight through link pipes. If you completely remove the cats you will throw a CEL.

The Akrapovic link pipe set fpr the 992 is a 300 cel cat. The car should not require any additional tuning with the link pipes or the exhaust.

You can always add Soul parts to the Akrapovic exhaust to increase your options on the link pipe options. Soul offers a 200 cel cat and a cat bypass.

The Soul sport cats have been our best selling exhaust item for the car.

If you have any questions please feel free to PM me or call the shop.

Thanks, I stand corrected. Not sure why they say you willl need to modify the ECU. Maybe for euro cars with the GPF.

How much of a difference in sound does the Akrapovic exhaust with the OEM cats make? I don't want to get into changing the cats on a brand new car for warranty reasons.

Definitely noticeable. + The sound of titanium itself is noticeable over stock.

Akrapovic is $$ but its oh so nice when you hold it and hear it.

Most vendors will ship to you anywhere you are. Mine shipped to me easily via Fed Ex/UPS. Box isn't that big and is light as hell!

Akrapovic 992 has arrived now need car LOL - Sept 2020

Ready for installation - Dec 2020

Yep..that is my experience also. NO need to flash/mod your ECU unless you do CATs and additional mods. Had one one my 991.1 cat back only with IPD Plenum and BMC filters only and no need to modify ECU however if I kepe it COBB Tune was pending!

Unless you tune the car.

See my previous post#26 above and others online (Youtube) for comparison however in person is best. It does sound much different and improved...IMHO!

^ If I'm correct, you use the OEM actuators and simply attach them to the Akrapovic exhaust in order to keep the ability to open and close the valves between Normal and Sport mode? In other words, that function is retained with the Akrapovic exhaust, right?

Correct. You use the stock actuators and bolt them to the Akrapovic. Works like the stock PSE setup.
