I haven't seen a company yet that can provide a plug-n-play ECU tune, like for 991s. Piggyback systems like the JB4, I don't know if you can call that an "ECU" tune.

"450" hp is plenty for me so I dont see the value in tuning a car that is already too fast for public roads, never mind the risk of premature engine wear and potential failures that wouldn't be covered by warranty as a result. If I had FU money and wanted to extract more for the track, different story.

do you have a link, or can you provide the specs here in the form for horsepower and torque increase for the base model?
and do you have your measurements from a dyno for the actual horsepower and torque from the factory?
Danke. Porsche Pferdestaerke sind Geil.

You mentioned that you were looking for legitimate, reliable ECU software for your 992. I presented an option for just that. I am keen to know what the basis is for the lack of trust? Is it that we need to bench flash the software currently?

Our German Engineers have just finished up the testing on the base model software. They tell me that we should have that listed on our site by early next week. I will update you when we have that available.

Danke. Ich bevorzuge Drehmoment.

Could you pleas educate me in what's involved when one sends in the ECU? How do you physically do what you do? Curious.....

FVD is literally one of the top and oldest aftermarket companies that support Porsche and Porsche Racing efforts across pro and am spectrums...it doesn't get much, if any more trustworthy here....

I’m sorry, please don’t take offense. I’m sort of new to all of this. The idea that I should buy a car well over $100k, then take a piece out of it and send it overseas, then have it “reprogrammed”, then sent back to me to reinstall, all while losing my factory drivetrain warranty, sort of..........ya know. Defies common sense.

It sure would be better if I could drive it into a shop, get it worked on, and then drive it home right afterward.

dude... you are the one that started a thread about finding a tune. FVD responded and now you are saying it defies common sense to do what it takes to get a tune. Just stop.

Stop what?

ECU tuning is something I prefer to do with a local shop. If that seems odd to you, then you seem just as odd to me. No offense

Then I'm confused as well...what are you asking for in this thread? You asked for legitimate tuning options, but clearly you've already decided you'll only go with a local shop. So presumably you know of your local shops. It's a bit of a trap to have someone like FVD reply and then you call them out, telling them to justify that they are safe, and that they need to prove it to someone who...prefers a local shop anyways.

@Rhonda@FVD thank you for continuing to help the Rennlist community. I want to share that there are those of us that appreciate what it takes to do what FVD does over many years. Local convenience is nice but I’d prioritize engineering know how and I’d trust FVD product 100%.

FVD is legit, one of the few aftermarket companies I trust for Porsche.

Bought many items from them before for my 991 GT3, shop with confidence.
