This review reminds you to never take your 992 for granted. It is a car full of lots of very special stuff indeed.

If our parents or grandparents could imagine we would be driving around in machines like these they wouldn't believe it, back then.

That red was fantastic, and a free color choice too.

Harrys review missed the mark I felt.

IF I was on the fence about buying a 992, this video would have closed the deal. Very nice.

I’d warn against watching it as a 991 owner. If the 992 can convert someone like Mark... GL

Ive followed SG since it launched the channel. The biggest thing you’ll notice is how often Mark states Porsches are “watered down” in general, including the last 991.2. So to see his reaction; and note actual drama in a modern turbo engine, was pretty cool. Who says the 992 has no “soul”

Good watch. Not so sure about the mention that the 992 "reverses a trend in 911s; it's finally lost weight (...) that was a problem with prior generation 911s; they kept getting heavier and heavier (...) 5% lighter than the 991.2" though. Looking back through brochures and other records the official DIN unladen weights (might be a bit inaccurate for older models) are generally slowly trending upwards but overall still in the same 1400-1500 kg ballpark since the 993. Some prior generations like 991.1 and 996 were actually lighter than their predecessors - not the 992 however (what's lighter is the body in white, but not the entire car). And their manual Carrera S at 1494 kg is actually a bit overweight.

Carrera (2)
992.1 [1470]/1505
991.2 1430/1450
991.1 1380/1400
997.2 1415/1445
997.1 1395/1435
996.2 1350/[1395]
996.1 1320/1365
993.2 1400/1425
993.1 1370/1395
964 1350
3.2 1210
3.0 1120
2.7 1075

Carrera S
992.1 1480/1515
991.2 1440/1460
991.1 1395/1415
997.2 1425/1455
997.1 1420/1460
993 1400

It’s nice to see Porsche reversing the trend.

On another note... Im thinking of keeping one of these in the 992 at all times...

You base that statement on what? What are your sources?

Really good review and their technical knowledge is also comprehensive. Interestingly they reviewed a Lotus Evora right before the C2S and said modern Porsches lacked feel, were somewhat numb and lifeless, despite being so good at everything.
(fast forward to the 14 minute mark for comments)

As a 997 owner looking to possibly get a 992 (and after test driving a 992 C2) I kind of agree with some of their points, so I'm kind of torn.

They are lifeless if you want them to be.

But they come alive in a big way when you want them to be, too.

Kind of like a sleeping tiger

just remember: it's not too good when you're on top of your subject. that part had me laughing so hard that my wife wanted to see the video.
